Something people don't realize, the guardsman can't salute the child back but the click step he did towards the lad before he went in is actually a sign of respect given to someone they can't salute. Fine guardsman all round. 😊 and adorable little lad.❤

@@Cinesta76 The kid is currently 25 years old, and he’s now a commander himself. Believe it or not, he actually replaced that same guard when he retired last year. I probably wouldn’t have believed it myself, but It was all over CNN, and all the other fake news networks, so I knew it had to be true. It was an incredibly beautiful story, and it really touched my heart.

Hat's off to the child who stayed respectful of the Queen's Guard. A salute to the guardsman who gave a great memory for the kid, hope he doesn't get reprimanded for breaking ranks.

@@leopardscarf I am not british but I've seen a lot of videos of them, if I remember correctly the stomps could either mean respect or that they are annoyed, it depends if the stomp is heavy or not; if it's loud they are really pissed off.

@@thebritishpanda6545 it is super strict. Also imagine how many kids and tourist want to pose for close up pics. You do it for one and you will have to do it for all. They know this. Therefore it is super strict. There have been a case in Sweden where someone (adult) had a clown mask who approached the king's guard. Only to hit him in the face and steal the fully automatic weapon with that knife thing attached. Happend like 4 years ago or something :p

That soldier did not lose his job and was not reprimanded. He was commanding the troops there so it was his decision to return. I believe the queens guard offered the boy and his family a tour of the castle at a later date

I’m not sure, but the moment the entire squad entered that door, they might’ve been released from their duty and the guard was free to pop back out and pose with no penalty. In any case, the penalties are still up to the commander, I would think…

The guard standing and greeting with the child probably wasn't even in his order or script which made it more wholesome. Also making him have a side of humanity inside, rather than being seen as a 'bot' by the public.

Most definitely it wasn’t he’s a soldier. The child was lucky that he made the effort to do that. He didn’t speak or bend down towards the child as he’s working and he probably got in trouble for doing even this.

@@alba9507 Why is that bad? The west and the middle east have been at war for centuries and it will not stop any time soon. It just so happens the great empires of old could not stand the test of time and left their people to the whims of their enemies. The only way the middle east has any hope of being a peaceful region they must unite under a multi ethnic nation, it has proven time and time again that it works there. Islam is a massive unifying factor in this aspect. Turkey may well revive the Ottomans, or create some spiritual successor. But untill then, they reap what they sow, and after centuries of losing, the west is finally on top.

I saw in a reddit AMA that a guard can march ten steps, do a left turn and return every ten minutes for not to have blood stuck in the legs. I think that was one of those actions, and a very kind and adorable way to do so. :)

This little boy is absolutely adorable. I'm so glad that the Guardsmen came back and took a picture with him. My heart melted when the little guy saluted the Guardsmen and in return the Guard returned the same respect with the stomp of his foot. This is such a beautiful memory he will always remember.😊❤

@@katymcginn4644 yes the mother explained in an interview he always dresses like that at home, so took him to meet his heroes for his birthday, and this encounter was a pleasant surprise for both the mother and child. Well done to the soldier, who embedded a memory forever within that boys mind. Hopefully he will grow to be a soldier himself🇬🇧 Your son is another example of the young and curious, I’m sure he will remember the encounter and grow up to fulfil his dream. Nah, this is fine. They cant salute the kid back, however, you can give respect. That last minute stomp and turn he does, that is a sign of respect from the 💂 guards. And yes, good pr is eaten up by high command. And i promise he had authority or permission to do this. You can see him being watched by a guy in the door to make sure everything is legit.

These guys are very disciplined and an act of kindness shows just how appreciative they're of the recognition recieved to finish their March and then step back out for a quick pic very awesome to see

I agree, I was looking at old pictures of where I'm from and the difference is unbelievable. People/neighbours/friends doors open all out on the streets enjoying life. Now its like the only people you see are commuters traveling work or people going to the shop, and police enforcing groups of more than 3 are dispersed and moved on under the threat of an ASBO order 😳
