Somebody in Canada still owns their house, they just won't face financial ruin if they end up in a serious medical emergency like they would in America. And on the flip side - what about offenders "rghts" to be respectful, accountable, and to not break laws / create victims? ugh.. taking Criminal Justice class 101 -- for the the heck of it (free tuition for 60+ keeps me out of trouble) and the RIGHTS are driving me bonkers. If the Crim. Justice System would tighten up on the offenders - there wouldn't be so many of them - but what the heck? a slap on the wrist --- doesn't hurt....and after all .. the bad folks have rights.

@alyssahansen14004 жыл бұрын
@dorothydreams oftornadoes With all due respect, I didn't pull those possibilities out of nowhere. Have you ever heard of Ted Bundy? He escaped from jail for some time. Pedro López? Jeffrey Dahmer or Nathaniel Cook or John Lawrence Miller or Lyda Southard? Have you perhaps heard of Randy Greenawalt? Johann Unterweger or Jimmy Lee Gray or Karla Leanne Homolka? All of these killers and rapists got free whether by the judicial system releasing them (fully or for parole) or escaping; they all were able to get out of custody after their horrendous crimes. Some of them found new victims after getting out! I can list more if you so please. This isn't a joke. Kohlhepp is a danger and I personally find it more important to prevent him from offending again than to have him suffer. You can disagree with me if you like but I don't consider my position to be ridiculous. And as for the technicality I was referring to a mistrial. They can be guilty with a ton of evidence but if something went wrong in the court proceedings it doesn't count.
@alyssahansen14004 жыл бұрын
@dorothydreams oftornadoes Of course. Murder in itself is an isolated incident. That doesn't mean we shouldn't take steps to prevent it. The consequences of not are great enough to take it into account.

She is an inspiration to many victims of violence and sexual assault. I have been a victim of a violent, brutal rape but thankfully not for days on end as she suffered on top of knowing he had killed her boyfriend. The emotional torture, physical abuse and as she sat with chains around her neck as of she was a dog she was already giving voice to those he had killed and not just going into self suffering. She is such a strong woman. She was there to be the voice of those that couldn't tell their story themselves and put an end to his evil. Having to look the one that hurt you is so hard but you have to look then in their eyes as you say all they did and said. You get a certain amount of peace and justice knowing you hell out an evil soul away so they can't hurt others. So proud of her
