Dr. Berry has an excellent bedside manner. How much healing occurs just from interacting with a doctor of her disposition? The placebo effect is well studied; what part is the positive experience between doctor and patient? Also, when the visit to the doctor is pleasant; the patient is likely to seek treatment again. All of us watching this video can attest to the healing power of interacting with a gentle person. Kindly spoken words, soft touch, and attitude of concern make Dr. Berry more than just a medical doctor; she is a healer. This is the type of person that makes an excellent physician-- MCAT scores and grades are secondary.
