fun fact, abed's dad is the principal in glee.

When he said "Glee" the first time, he scared the shit outta me.

My head canon is that abed was never converted, but actively sought out mister rad to try and cheer up the study group and the holidays on his own, which is why he quit after learning that regionals weren’t the end goal.

Even I started to hate Glee after Community. And I don't even know why.

Unfortunately, Regionals were canceled due to COVID A shame, since they were THIS close.

I don't fully understand why but this is one of my favourite episodes of Community. Even after Abed's Christmas episode, they still make a Christmas episode THIS GOOD.

Okay but for a parody of Glee, the songs in this episode are all written really well. There's not one song that I thought was worse than the others, even the pageant song and the opening song were hilarious as someone who was in glee club in high school

This is my favorite song of the episode. All the other songs were written in a 100% tongue-in-cheek manner, which is fine, but I personally think Community is at its best when the tongue-in-cheek humor is blended with a spoonful of genuineness (i.e.: Winger Speeches). That’s what this gave us. In between lines poking fun at Glee, Abed expresses his desire to help his friends be emotionally healthy and be able to connect with them more. Really highlights the core of his character.(inb4 obvious comments: referencing classic movies and tv shows isn’t the core of his character, it’s the medium through which he connects with other people) Not hating on the other songs, just wanna ramble bout my love for this one in particular.

"Everything's cooler when cameras are spinning" gets me everytime 😂🤣

I love how this whole affair looks and feels creepy and disturbing. Like spreading a zombie virus. And cheerful music makes dramatic effect stronger. Like wanting to look cheerful, festive and dramatic, but failing on purpose. And non-dramatic camera angles at some of moments of the scene make their dramatic dancing seem awkward and weird. When Mr Red starts playing, he is off focus and main focus is Abeds' confused reaction. And when they are dancing, they are often off center to reinforce off-putting effect. Fucking brilliant.

Pierce is the only one who gets it. Also, equal parts Hanson and Manson, brilliant.

My favorite part about this scene is how the typical dramatic black-out sting has harmonies overlayed lol.

What the hell are regionals?

I like how a character caring about making it to regionals is the sign they have been hopelessly converted to glee club membership.

But I promise... if we dig down... "Pass!" my thought exactly

This is honestly a great episode

Glee! It's a feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart gets in its pants. Glee! It's like a drug that you use that turns pain into shoes and your shoes into dance.

The actor playing Mr Rad is great in the role! He manages to convey the right mix of "boyish" and "deranged."

This was such a good spoof of Mr. Shue

I can’t help but feel that Mr. Rad feels like a murdering psychopath kinda guy.

Mr Rad did the piano thing to Abed because he knows Abed thinks life is a show. He studies his prey.
