This lil' vamperina is vicious, but SLAY, girl! ABIGAIL [2024] First Time Watching! Movie Reaction. This film has many virtues - an enjoyable popcorn film indeed. It's a little long, but the parts that stand out are memorable and entertaining. Melissa Barrera does a great job making me forget her Scream character, which is good for her long term career. And this is now an Alisha Weir STAN account - what a performance!! Do you know how hard it is to dance on blocks of wood under your toes??!!?? Cause I DO!

You're correct - I probably SHOULD'VE said, "Wasn't given a chance to do as well as it could have in theatres.." My bad! $39.8M on a $28M budget - I'm sure that's serviceable. I was more remarking on the quick pivot to home media/streaming, but that's becoming more normalized. Thanks for watching!

@@ShelleyIsReelingI loved this movie, but you are right. Despite good reviews and a high tomato score, It did not do well in theaters. Taking into account marketing and press tours they broke even if lucky. I would love to see a sequel to this, but the reality is if we do, it’ll be either a smaller budget and/or streamed. For comparison, M3GAN was made for $12 million and made $180 million. There was immediate talk of a sequel as it was still in theaters.

@@stubbornscorpio7 I love this - very astute assessment! I worry for the future of the theatrical run. For my generation and the ones before it it was such an integral part of the film experience. But the track has shifted so much to convenience and the profitability motive. 2 weeks in theaters?? Inconceivable! Thank you for sharing!

@@stubbornscorpio7M3GAN had that viral dance thing to help it out tho! Not even the creators knew it would blow up before being release January 2023. That’s why they changed it from Rated R to PG13, to help get more butts in seats and it WORKED. Abigail is Rated R. I personally like Abigail a bit more but again, M3GAN had more advantages…

I loved Angus cloud in euphoria he made fezco so adorable and the feels I cried when I saw the season 2 finale and the way he cares about rue is so sweet I love him so much it fucking sucks that he's gone rest in peace Angus you will be missed

Whoever told you it did bad in theaters that’s bs the theaters I went to 3 times it was crowded and everyone was laughing and shocked

I know, I know - my bad! It was observation based on the film’s limited run in theatres. When I was your age, movies had weeks to succeed or fail in multiplexes. They give no time to grow legs anymore. Glad you had a worthy theater experience though- that’s what it’s all about! 😉
