Thanks for the really detailed tutorial, as always. On the DC function of Utility, I'm not sure I understand why you wouldn't always have that activated - or am I missing something? And would it work only on individual tracks rather than Group or Master?

Hey Buddy. Like your style :-) Stupid question here but when I am recording Mid Side microphone technique I'd just like to clarify something: Mid mic (cardioid) panned centre - Side mic (fig 8) is duplicated on to another track - Both original and duped side mic channels are panned hard left and right - drop the "phase invert" utility effect on one of the side channels = Done. Am I correct? Is there anything else I need to do when recording MS mic technique? Cheers :-)

Thanks for the video. Unfortunately I’m stuck on a fundamental. Clearly I’m doing something wrong here. Any help appreciated. I have a stereo snare sample and want to make it mono. I’ve dropped the snare into drum rack and placed a utility on the track. When I change the width to 0 and pan the track it doesn’t move the sound from left to right. Even at ‘50R’ the sound is still in the left speaker but sounds like it’s just lost some presence. I cannot pan the sound. Is this normal/expected? I don’t believe it is…

Is there ever any reason to not use DC offset on my recordings then? I sometimes notice some offset in recordings with lots of low end (kick drum mics and bass tracks) so I have been using the DC button on those usually. I'm hearing here that I may as well just use it on anything and everything since there could be small amounts of DC offset, even synthetically, reducing the "efficiency of my speakers"??

@techNet Yeah, I use Utility all the time; excellent video. I have a question which I can leave in comments or do you have an email? It's a BIT unusual so I thought mailing an email is best.
