When I am programming a beat on the push i can't see the green pad that represents what note is currently being played. how do i fix that?

I've got a question to every push user. I already programmed a drum rack inside an instrument rack that has several macros controlling the parameters. My question: Does Push automatically recognize the macros and map them to the knobs on the controller or is it possible to map them to the controller. Would really appreciate if anybody could answer me this question. Thank u ;-)

This tutorial was terrible for me when I was first getting started, there was so much terminology that I was unfamiliar with, but after experimenting and trying to understand I've finally got it and I'm able to explain it to my composition students. Ableton folks you could really do with creating some resources for music teachers and students to break down the language, or create some tutorials tested with real people.

@@deaconfrost5935 he's not saying a beginner shouldn't ever do these things. To not know the basic terminology being used here is not even beginner yet. It seems like this person looked at ableton and decided to just buy some expensive equipment.

Is it just me or does it take a little getting used to "timing" the pads for live recording? Mine seem to be delayed alot of the time, and ive turned the buffer size down as far as i can without any dropouts.

Probably not the best place to ask, but is it possible to use this method of drum recording with Push with VSTs like NI Damage? I'd really like to be able to use the step sequencing and pads with separate VSTs, so I want to double check before buying.

Supergaijin Ultragamer well since your just using midi tracks to record beats in Ableton, it isn't a stretch to think you could record midi tracks to use for NI instruments as well.

I'm in doubt, i've had my MPC 2500 for about two years. Haven't really achieved a lot with it and don't always feel like switching it on. Besides performance oriented playing, the push changes the workflow for me. Theres no reason you can't make great music without it, but I certainly enjoy my jam sessions more. I think it's faster to start from 0 on the push, but better to arrange and finish a project with mouse + keyboard. There are just so many shortcuts the push gives you, plus the ableton integration is already there. I think the most powerful is mouse + keyboard + push (and whatever other gear helps).

Not to hate but maschine still beats the shit out of this just because of 1 thing. You can scroll true millions of samples in seconds, without 1% of lagg, ableton never knew how to solve this problem, and thats why im not buying push.
