Recording a new drum cover has been on my to-do-list for quite some time now...
But time flies and my priorities shifted quite drastically during the last year, so drumming/recording and especially shooting video besides my day job and private live became kind of difficult.
While I recorded 9 videos during recording sessions, I can’t upload any of the footage due to postponed release dates, so in the meantime here’s a little drum cover. Hope you enjoy it!
More is definitely to come, but who knows when...

Would make sense, drumming is something that can basically have unlimited combinations to play unique sounds and grooves, making it even interesting for computers hehe

mans is practically a fucking statue while playing 250/260+ BPM blast beats/double bass. switching between singles and double on the feet. the amount of techniques being used throughout this video and being executed flawlessly. absolutely fucking unreal stuff. without a doubt, one of the cleanest metal drummers in the game today.

Hello David. Since you've two kick drums, I wonder how it would sound if, for some parts of the music piece, you pan the left kick drum on the left, and the right one on the right. Just curiousity. Can Mathias try someting like this next time? Thank you for your video. Awesome job.

Jaw dropping control. From having perfected every foot technique imaginable, to his push-pull blasts, single foot blasting, the speed/intricacies of his fills, ambidextrous abilities as well as utilising ghost notes and flam fills, David runs the full gamet. Master of his craft who improves every track he chooses to cover. Edit : This is one of my faves of Herr Diepold.

David posts a video almost a year later and honestly he didn't fail to deliver. Man he ages like fine whine!! The precision, musicianship and attention to details is off the roof. As a drummer myself I strive to be in his level one day.

There's nothing really uncoverable about this tho. I've heard more complex and technical songs than this. And to my recollection I don't think Ken single foot blasts either. But this was a very impressive playthrough. And there were some fills here that weren't on the original song, mainly cymbal work

Mixed by Mathias Garmusch of course. David is the tightest and cleanest extreme metal drummer who has also mastered every technique you can think of (or worth doing). Accomplished in various styles/genres also (like Rudinger).

@@bufordteejustice1119 yes and no. best in the world is obviously subjective and strictly based on that particular person's opinion. but, i'd argue david diepold is up there. his single foot technique and push-pull is maybe the best in the world as well as his blast beast speed and endurance. could neil peart or gavin harrison do this? i don't think so. i think david is untouchable in speed and endurance.
