About 33 weeks. 5 days +/-15days (approx) of single viable pregnancy || Sonographic prediction of abdomen
1. The uterus is Gravid. There is a single viable pregnancy, with Cephalic presentation.
2. Fetal Biometry:-
BPD= 85.8 mm
HC = 310mm
AC 286mm
FL= 65.6 mm
Estimated Gestational Age = 33 weeks. 5 days +/-15days (approx)
Weight of fetus = 2372 gm(approx)
3. Fetal Anatomy :
Fetal movement: Active movements of the fetus are normal.
Fetal Heart: Cardiac pulsation positive. FHR is 129 bpm.
Chest: 4 Chamber view of the heart is seen & found normal.
Abdomen: Stomach, Liver, Both Kidneys, urinary bladder, and bowels appear normal.
3 vessel Umbilical cords are seen.
Skeleton: the fetal spine and four extremities/limbs appear normal. Cervix: Cervical length is within normal limit. No evidence of cervical incompetence seen.
Liquor amount is adequate for this gestational age.
Placenta- is posterior and away from the os. Grade -I maturity.
IMPRESSION: About 33 weeks. 5 days +/-15days (approx) of single viable pregnancy with Cephalic presentation
Sonographic Prediction
At approximately 33 weeks and 5 days of gestation, an ultrasound (sonogram) can provide detailed information about the fetal abdomen. This can include measurements, growth assessment, and the identification of any abnormalities.
Abdominal Circumference (AC):
The AC is one of the standard biometric measurements used to assess fetal growth and development. It is measured around the abdomen at the level of the liver and stomach, including the portal vein.
Fetal Weight Estimation:
The AC, along with other measurements like the Biparietal Diameter (BPD), Head Circumference (HC), and Femur Length (FL), is used to estimate fetal weight.
Amniotic Fluid Volume:
Adequate amniotic fluid is essential for fetal development. The volume is assessed to ensure it falls within normal ranges.
Fetal Organs:
The stomach, liver, kidneys, and intestines are evaluated for normal size, structure, and function.
Placental Position and Condition:
The placenta is assessed for its location, appearance, and any signs of abnormalities like calcifications or signs of placental insufficiency.
Umbilical Cord:
The insertion site and the number of vessels (typically two arteries and one vein) are checked to ensure normal structure and function.
Fetal Movement and Breathing:
Fetal movements and practice breathing movements are observed to assess fetal well-being.
Abnormal Findings: Measurements significantly above or below the normal range may indicate potential issues such as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), macrosomia (large baby), or other developmental concerns that require further monitoring or intervention.
Follow-up:
If any abnormalities are detected, further tests and more frequent monitoring may be necessary. This could include additional ultrasounds, non-stress tests (NST), or biophysical profiles (BPP).
