One thing I find really interesting about future paradox forms is that they aren’t actually robots. They are capable of eating and professor Turo mentions that Miraidon has genetic makeup similar to Cyclizar, meaning it had DNA. They seem to actually be Pokémon that have evolved to incorporate technology into their biology, making them much closer to cyborgs than simple robots
@Slenderquil

I theorize that their ability has something to do with that, perhaps they evolved to have robotic body parts to capitalize on some sort of intense electric terrain in the future.

I think the reason why all the future mons are so robotic is because they come from a future so far gone that there is very little nature to be found. So Pokémon began to adapt to their new tech based environments. All the future mons can eat, sleep, and be genetically linked to their past forms. So they are like the naturally robot-like Pokémon we already have like the Magnemite and Voltorb lines. The Voltorb line specifically showcases a Pokémon species adapting to a tech based environment, going from grass/electric to pure electric.

About the different lore, I interpret this more as some random people trying to imagine the source of those creatures rather than how they really came to be. After all, all the lore is from a quite dubious magazine, and the Pokédex actually use it as a source.

Spoilers ahead In the story, the professor was originally inspired by the stories and imagery of the scarlet/violet book to bring pokemon back from the past/future, leading to the creation of the time machine which brought them back for real. But if the time machine is what brought these creatures to the present, then how did the people who wrote the book come to meet them in the past? That’s what makes them paradox pokemon, because they shouldn’t have existed back then to have inspired the book. Based on this information, the imagination actualiser theory probably isn’t far off. It’s either that, or the time machine sent the pokemon back to the past somehow for the explorers to have found them. Likely has something to do with the ‘disc pokemon’ too, which seems to be made of tera crystal hexagons itself just like the time machine.

Additional and interesting fact about how the Paradox Pokemon of the future are designed that I learned from a content and observation (Excluding Miraidon, the Cyclizar duo are exceptions as usual.): The colour of the starry lights that glow on them are exclusive to each: Treads is Red, Moth is Orange, Hands is Yellow, Thorns is Green, Bundle is Blue, Jugulis is Magenta, and Valiant is Pink. All of which kinda give a rainbow feel for them. Also, their names all starting with "Iron" sorta gives some unity and order to them, contrasting them well with the chaos of the Past Paradoxes.

these designs are AWESOME. i love that they're different but don't stray too far from the pokemon they're based on; i can easily tell what they are based on by looking at the silhouette. i think i'm of the rare opinion that the future paradoxes are pretty cool. i love the glowy/starry bits on them that make them look otherwordly, and their in-game animations are super cool imo! like iron treads spinning around like a wheel, iron bundle's head popping off, iron valiant removing its arm blades, etc. i also love how the paranormal books describe them; a UFO sent to spy on humans, an alien weapon, a mad scientist's experiment? it feels like these are genuinely cryptids in the pokemon world. i really wish people wouldn't brush them off as "just robots" when there are so many cool aspects to them :( (also they're technically cyborgs, considering.. they're living organisms n all)

The lore of the paradox forms makes sense to me. People don’t know much about them. All of their pokedex entries mostly talk about how they were seen in some magazine or book and not really a lot of anything else aside for how dangerous they are, almost as if the person writing them is just working to fill them out with not much to go on. What does a person do when they aren’t sure of something and have no data to rely on? They ask. If they can’t do that because, say, the subject is too dangerous to study, they speculate. Now, before you say anything about the legendaries, I think that their entries are based somewhat on mythology about them. Think about it. For example, Arceus can be put to sleep and beaten in battle, despite supposedly being the creator of the universe. It’s more powerful than most pokemon, yes, but that power might be exaggerated in stories written before the invention of pokeballs. This also explains how Arceus can exist while Mew is supposedly the ancestor of all pokemon. Of course, this is all just guesswork, but it could be true.

I do like the 'Imagination Actualizer' theory, as that's basically what Unown did in the Entei movie. Little girl accidentally summoned them, wishing to bring her father back. The Unown listened... Kinda. One of her latest memories of him involved him pretending to be Entei to play with her. So they bring her dad back.. as Entei. Seeing Ash makes her want to be a Pokemon master, so the Unown generate a more grown body for her with a full team of pokemon, all made from nothing but her imagination. And the entire time, the efforts of the Unown are literally crystalizing the entire world outside her imagination bubble. It could all be totally coincidentally but there's enough here to make me wonder.

got one for you: Iron Drone (Paradox Haunter) black-colored with purple eyes and purple eyes. Ghost/Flying stat-wise, is the opposite of Gengar's offensively, which means, it has more attack and sp attack. the reasoning as the theme comes from Haunter's Dex entry as someone who lurks in the shadows, can see someone, but nobody can see him, despite feeling its prescence. a Scientist came up with the idea of making a cyborg that can scout and be used for recon or for security, all based on Haunter's entry as a base. it can cloak itself and be invisible while scouting an area. design-wise, it looks like a metallic haunter shell. its mouth has the iconic look while idle, but does not have an actual mouth, instead just lights indicating when it screams like the usual mon. the bottom looks like the back of a rocket that keeps it afloat (kinda like a Harrier) and its hands can go very far like rocket punches. im bad at drawing, so i cannot design one lol.

I still know a theory that implies that the Past is just a world without humans and the future is a world where humans replaced the Pokemon instead. Considering Ultra Beasts exist, it's not impossible that it's not true time travel but just parallel universes. Plus in mediums like the Manga, TCG, and Anime obviously they'll both exist, so it's more likely Turo and Sada in the anime might just be universe jumping instead.

See, I’ve said this before in other videos, but I wish they ran more so with the idea of “historical recreations”, and some of them do things like that. Namely, Volcarona was said in texts to be a Pokémon that once replaced the sun, that was its claim to fame, so that’s what they focused on when they “remade” it. Same thing with a few others, Donphan was “an elephant that can turn into a wheel” so that’s what they made, or Miraidon where they heard about a Pokémon that people rode on, and saw it, and just like we did pre-release assumed that they had wheels like a motorcycle. I think Iron Valiant is the most interesting with the concept, since historians presumably heard about a green-haired Pokemon that used fairy magic and fought with blades that came from its elbows, and not only is it cool that they assumed the two were the same Pokémon so that’s what they made, but also the blades quite literally come from their elbows. In summary, I wish it ran more with the idea of things lost in translation over time, historical glorification, and trying to be recreated from ancient texts and depictions, like how we reconstruct what dinosaurs would’ve looked like (and have been proven wrong multiple times, see the scaly dinosaurs we used to think of, the bone wars the Galar fossils were based on, and the Brontosaurus as examples). But I mean I guess “Tyranitar and Hydreigon but they’re robots” and “hehe Delibird is a water gun now” are fine too

I think the coolest Violet Paradox Pokemon is Iron Valiant. It's not just a Gallade, but it's also a Gardevoir. Because if you didn't have a Shiny stone to evolve a Male Kirlia, it would just turn into Male Gardevoir. Either becoming Psychic/Fairy or Psychic/Fighting. But with Iron Valiant, it does hint at the possibility that Gallade in the future are just the default Evolution for Male Kirlia but take on aspects of Gardevoir as they evolve becoming Fairy/Fighting. Ditching the Psychic typing all together.

I think the time machine wasn't built from scratch, but rather built in the walls of the thing you see in the book and built upon to control what time the area is connected to rather than making a portal out of thin air
@CraftingMenace
@CraftingMenace Жыл бұрын
The lore difference has a very simple explanation. In one universe the time machine only pulls from the past, the other the future. This isn't like normal when trading another version exclusive legendary is just "oh this legendary just isn't part of the story," this is in the other game they literally don't exist. So they had to come up with something, and they chose to say it's just some tabloid that happens to resemble the pokemon from another universe. Notice how all the tabloid entries are all game exclusive, the past ones only have the entries in violet and the future ones only have it in scarlet.

Future Pokemon have lights that got a rainbow thing going on if you put them in a ROY G BIV order (Iron Vigilant and Jugulis are odd ones out, but it can work)

I realized that all of the violet paradox shinies are rainbow (Iron Treads is red, Iron Moth is orange, Iron Hands is yellow, e.t.c) the only two that don't fit are Iron Valiant which is pink and Iron Jugulis which is magenta and indigo. Edit: apparently others have realized this too, so I'm not the first.

My idea is they are Pokémon from a smart scientist, after a long time him and his Pokémon got older and he decided to develop a mechanical body for his Pokémon to thrive in, they were stronger variants than how they were before and they got sent to the past, that’s just my head cannon though

What I like about future paradox forms is that, while their looks may be lacking in creativity (aside from Iron Valiant and maybe Iron Treads), their animations drive the "robot" point home in a good way, from the simpler things like Iron Jugulis/Moth twitching and moving their wings more suddenly, to the more peculiar ones: a recurring thing with robots in fiction is that they have some kind of contraption in their bodies that does things they wouldn't be able to do as living beings. Such is the case with Iron Bundle chucking its head out when hit and shooting things out of its bundle like a fire hydrant, Iron Treads' trunk forming a full wheel and the body not moving while it rolls, Iron Valiant merging its blades and wielding them like Darth Maul, and to a lesser extent Iron Thorns' thorns being retractable. All of these things place the future forms and the past forms on the same level of unique-ness in my opinion, the difference being they achieve that by using different aspects of their design.

I think the one thing people forget is that the Paradox Mon AREN'T from the Past/Future, but rather, from a Neolithic/Futuristic alternate reality. The 'lore' behind them is 100% speculative.

The future Paradox Pokemon really scare me because it looks like some evil force took over and replaced the Pokemon with robotic duplicates. That is some horror story stuff right there.

The inconsistency on the lore and origin of the future paradox pokémons + they all having the same design( perhaps implying the same creator) really sets up some exception for a future dlc where we can go to that "dystopian future" are just get acesse to more pokémon and information from that future time line!!

I'm pretty sure the deal with the names and Pokédex entries are just from the eyes of people who don't understand the advanced technology. A lot of the Paradox Pokémon entries explain that they where seen in some sort of dubious article or magazine, meaning these are technically Pokémon that were never seen before. It's like how some extraterrestrials(or aliens from outer space) are called "Greys" or "Little Green Men", but maybe later on we find out that they are an evolved species of primates(related to humans) and we would then give them proper names. It's interesting to know that at one point we thought the Pokèdex had all the information of all living creatures in the universe, but really all it is just entries by people researching Pokémon.

Looks like someone haven't play enough the story part of the game. ~ after you've finished the story mode, Arven will be in the school next to some books where he talks about the whole paradox pokemon thing not matching the written sightings and the professors supposedly bringing them to our time

I think what I have to remind myself each time I see the future paradox mons is that, while being robotic and such, they ARE pokemon. Think in a similar vain to Porygon, and artificial but still very much alive creature.

I believe the dex entries are just stories like, the stories for them are made up in our day because people who don’t know Turo’s secret experiment see these future paradoxes and start making conspiracies about them, which inspires the people of the future to create the robots that Turo then brings back to the past this is based of the Scarlet entries generally saying “yeah this thing kinda looks like something in a conspiracy magazine”

Koraidon and Miraidon do actually have “paradox” names if you look at their Pokédex entries in each of their exclusive games. The expedition journal called Koraidon “Winged King” while in the other game called Miraidon “Iron Serpant” They were probably given their proper names by the professors so the rest of them could get real names as well

I realize that both lines seem themed around IDEAS about the past and future and thus can blend a bit closely together in design but even then the future mon seem a touch too similar. Even their names are too similar. Least the past mon didn’t all choose one prefix.

Just to reiterate, I personally do not regard Paradox Pokémon as being from the actual past or future. Within the mechanics of the gameplay they all function very similarly to Ultra Beasts, and so I likewise regard them as being from alternate realities that resemble primitive/cybernetic versions of the modern world. Sort of like more extreme versions of how Black/White were alternate counterparts to each other where either technology or tradition was emphasized in locations like the two different Opelucid cities.

My current theory is that the paradox forms are fusions of things from their time. In the case of the past forms, pokemon coming through the machine are fused with a dinosaur of the time. For future, they fuse with an appliance. This would explain why each entry mentions that they are similar to their namesake, but aren't actually those items as they are depicted in the scarlet or violet book

Just some headcanons I have: 1. Those lights are bio-lights, and visibly show a glowing fluid that flows through alll the Iron Paradoxes, acting like blood. The glow comes from the fluid reacting with electricity, producing energy usable by the Pokémon. When they turn off, the fluid stops reacting, going dark 2. The Pokédex entries mean nothing, they frequently match up with the Occulture magazines, and I doubt those are a trustworthy source of information
