Excellent video, Mr. Norris. I remember talking to you about this house. I'm still interested in trying to save this house from demolition. As it's such a unique structure, I want to see it survive, rather than be torn down, as the current property owners intend.

Money from items auctioned off should have been put in a fund to maintain the house as a historical site

Too bad Sally didn't require in her will that any assets of the estate that were sold had to be put to preservation of the home she so obviously loved. I guess she thought that her descendants would take care of her home. Too bad she was wrong.

Kills me that this house and the grounds are falling to new development. I'm sure I'm not the only person who drove past the place and thought "If I won the lottery, I'd be home right now...."

@@nadinemasteller1089 I can only guess they didn't learn to respect others property. A lot of the devastation has happened since November when a person posted photos taken in Nov. At that time the curtains were still in windows and the stair railing was intact.

It is far more valuable as commercial real estate and subdivision is the harsh reality. It is not historical enough or old enough or financially feasible to restore it. She would have had to have the plans in place before she passed away. I can't blame the family for cashing in on the prime real estate.

The Abney family should be ashamed of themselves to sell off all the families collectibles and then took off with there 4.5 million split among them. That’s not a lot if you think about it. Very selfish people.

We owe Sally’s father a lot for employing many upstate citizens over the years. I met Sally and toured the home!! Priceless! It saddens me to see the house in shambles. It looks like a war zone.

I'm 32 and even as a kid I was obsessed with Greek-revival architecture. I used to build columed houses out of legos. I drove up the driveway of this house a few years back to get a closer look but there was an SUV parked behind the house and it looked like someone was there doing stuff so I left fairly quickly. I still adore antebellum and antebellum-inspired architecture, but I must admit that as an over-educated millennial I no longer romanticize it like I once did. For all the beauty I now also see the dark clouds of slavery and Jim Crow apartheid hanging about such places. I'd rather homes like this be a museum or a bed & breakfast. Something open to everyone to try to offset the bad vibes.

The damage to her home in all buildings on the property is a real crying shame, I have not found out for sure but I had my DNA done and Mrs Rose her name came up, she did come and meet me at Winn-Dixie before it went out of business in Anderson, SC she invited me to her home but because of Elvis a man I suspected being my biological father was friends with John Richard ( Buck) Fulp, Jr. my suffering wanting my father not ever getting to meet him broke my heart so I went to late to visit I met her black maid dressed so beautiful in a black skirt black top with a see through apron and a small see through little hat on her head. Well it’s my fault cause I gave no notice later I saw Ms. Rose at her mail box she was not dressed proper and her walk you knew something was not right her steps ah walking was short stepping and she was driving by herself, no if I had been there she would not have been driving by herself but when people are rich you do not get in their way. I am upset for I am one of Elvis Presley’s daughters here is my mother with Elvis: Hysterical Fan Grabbing Elvis Presley’s Pants Leg/ click on Miami Beach Miami Connection 411 scroll to 6th photo her name was Eular Agnes Robinson Moss yes she is deceased she stayed in Charleston SC hoping my father being in the Navy would come and find her. What people do not understand is the era was so different on people tracing a parent down but my mother saw to it she was pictured with my father. He was in NY in 1955 and this is my birth date 11-15-1955 Sam Phillips quit Elvis and in March 1955 Col. Tom Parker took over it was 1956 when the photo was taken of my mother and Elvis. Elvis did not die in 1977 cause he built that home across from Sally Abney Rose’s home and that was after 1977. It was like 1985 when Jeanette Moore said John Richard Buck Fulp Jr. took her there. So of course I went to see it. Elvis walked away from it, I suspected that possibly the home was John Fulp’s home because he use to be a impersonator for Elvis. See costume make up and wigs many could be Elvis, that’s why there was so many impersonators. Elvis started a secret service in Shelby, N. C. If you have plenty of money and time you to could be a Elvis.
