This has to be one of the most misleading video I ever saw. Watched this first and then went out and bought it. Open up the box and there is a waterflow valve and regulator valve that is not even shown in this video. Shame on Hayward.

The video states to make sure to use the handle so you don't damage it if the hoses to pull out. The one I purchased Wanda whale does not have a handle and the tail comes off if you hold it by the tail. My question why would you make a statement about damaging the product I purchased if not using the handle if it doesn't have a handle? Very difficult to get in and out of the pool without a handle. Poor product because of this. Very irritating when the tail keeps falling off also, I realize this was not a $400 unit but for $150 and being a Hayward I would expect better.

What position did you set the pump onto clean with the Haywood bug?

I brought my vacuum in the fall of last year so that it can help to clean the dirt that has fell to the bottom of my pool. Summer has started and I still can't get it to work. I have called Hayward brought a new cartridge filter, tested the pressure with gauge everything seems fine I feel suction at the bottom the little feet move but the vacuum does not move. My pool bottom is flat and I have a Hayward cartridge filter system. I'm so sad can anyone please help I am ruining my kids summer.

we have the intex above ground pool, and the 2500 gph krystal clear pump filter. We have tried everything to get Wanda to work, and it will just not move. filter cartridge is brand new, we tried hooking it up into the skimmer, and without the skimmer. Wanda wont move. Is the 2500 gph strong enough to move her?

My above ground has all around the edges a seam attaching the bottom liner part to the sides. will it clean that?

We just bought the Hayward Critter cleaner. We have a Skimmer that has a hole in it to attatch to a cleaner and the connector that came with the skimmer is too small to fit onto the cone adapter. Is there any puece made by Hayward that will remedy this?

These vacuums were good 30 years ago. Now they're junk. I had the older Aqua Droid vacuum and it was awesome. It cleaned my entire 28' round pool bottom spotless in 2 hours. I moved and years later got another pool. I immediately bought a new Aqua Bug, expecting to get the same great service out of it. NOPE! From day one I could not get it to work right. It's not as if I didn't know how to use it, as I used one for 5 years with absolutely no trouble. But this one just wouldn't work. My old one didn't have a pressure valve that need to be used either. But I figured something must have changed and now you have to use it, so I did. It still wouldn't work right. The damn thing would start out moving very slow, make it almost across the pool and then just tip onto it's side, even though it had plenty of hose. It would also go in a half circle until it hit the wall, then just stop and sit there. It wouldn't turn away from the wall no matter how long you waited. I tried and tried over and over and wasted more time with it than I would have if I just got in and hand vacuumed. I tried it again every year for 3 years until I finally gave up and just did it by hand. This year I decided to either figure out what's wrong with it, or finally throw it away. The thought of throwing $350.00 of my hard earned money in the garbage made me do some investigating. I found some KZfaq videos about problems with them and how to fix them. A couple had said the screw that mounts the little blue piece that holds the A-arms in place was missing from the start or just fell out after some time. So I thought that might be the cause of my issue. I took the bottom off and looked, and the screw and lock washer were firmly in place. So I kept tearing into it. When I got all the way to the top of the internals, I saw that the Cone Gear was melted on one side, so it was missing 3 teeth. Clearly that was a manufacturing defect, because the only way it could have happened otherwise, the entire unit would have to have been melted. So that right there, between the melted cone gear and screws falling out, shows that at Hayward quality control is non-existent. Being out of warranty, even though it came that way, Hayward wouldn't help out. And a new 50 cent piece of plastic cone gear from them costs $100.00. The company has gone down the toilet. They care more about celebrating Pride Month than they do about ripping off their customers. They just take your money and say, SCREW YOU!

Does those bug pool cleaners work in in ground pools?

My pool has a salt system, do I shut the salt water system off? The pump puts it through the salt system which turns it into chlorine with out the smell... I do not see a way to disconnect the salt system. Plus the top skimmer holds a filter there and then there is a bigger filter with the pump I had to buy for the salt system, it is a definite upgrade. I do not have leaves. Also putting water in the hose can be done with the the water coming in it is a spout to remove air. I have a flat plate that goes on top of the skimmer and the hose for cleaning is put on there for suction. That is how I have been cleaning , but I wanted an automatic because of my Ra and joints.. There is a few wrinkle.. My pool is 18 ft round.Help?
