Very Helpful. My Wanda was passed down to me by a good friend that upgraded her vacuum. So I did not have all the info. Explaining each part may seem silly to some. But found it Very Helpful. Especially the info about being able to take screws off bottom panel if there was a large block of junk.

Hey, thanks for the video. I bought one of these last summer and it wouldn't work with my Intex pump and sand filter system for my 12x24 rectangle pool, most likely because my pump was too weak. I was wondering if you could please tell me what your pump and sand filter specs were, so I could try to compare with mine, and probably upgrade to what you are using. I use an Intex Salt Chlorinator as well though, so the flow can't be too high either or that will crap out... I figured that out when I tried just a new stronger Hayward pump with all the other Intex existing stuff. I have a couple of friends with similar setups as mine as well also wondering how they can use the Wanda the Whale with theirs, but I told them to wait til I can figure it out with mine first... Anything you can offer for specs or info would be greatly appreciated, please??? Thanks

Hi! Thank you for watching!!! Yes it is a 1 hp pump with a 19 inch sand filter, you definitely need good suction from you pump I will try to see if it has any pump requirements in the manual! Thanks for watching again! 👍😊

@@WhitehouseFarmVet oh wow thank you for the reply! I forgot to mention that I bought and tried a Hayward 1.5hp pump, and hooked it up in place of the original Intex pump, and that was too powerful for the salt chlorinator. So I never did try the whale with it, and hooked the original back up for now. Was going to toss a 3 way handle valve on there for 2 pumps to be hooked up, but a 1hp is probably the best solution. But I also thought the pumps basket wasn't filling as fast as it should have, and I had both ports on the pool open, so I was also thinking I may have to do something there as well to make a single bigger opening. But the whale doesn't have that large of a hose, so maybe not... I did just notice that your pump is only about 3 or 4 feet from your pool as well, and mine is a run of black ABS piping about 18 feet away from the pool to the pump, then through the 14" (maybe 16") sand filter, then into my natural gas heater, then out to my salt water chlorinator, and then all the way back to the pool which is a couple feet longer even. I know ABS isn't supposed to be great for this stuff, but it's been awesome for a few years, and it stays out all year in the extreme cold and so far so good... Cheaper as well. I leave my pool out all year and just under half full, if that other stuff wounded weird. Been doing that with this pool for about 8 years so far. So many variables to consider, and a lot of trial and error. But a 1hp pump would probably fix all the problems I had then: - Slow enough for the salt chlorinator. - The original water flow should keep up with the basket on the pump. - The whale obviously works. - Shorter distance to the pump, then the pump can push it further, maybe??? A 19" sand filter would be pretty cool as well, but this one isn't bad, and I don't think it's causing any problems right now. Thank you again for the info, it was very helpful!

Yeah a shorter distance because you do lose suction power that far away or try a 1 hp pump either way hopefully you get it working good! Thanks again for watching and have a great summer!👍😊

My question is what should the pump be at? Recirculate or filter??
@WhitehouseFarmVet Жыл бұрын
Always filter! You want the crap that it picks off the bottom to get trapped and filtered out!!!
@jaydusmejia147614 күн бұрын
My family recently bought an above ground pool and are using parts from another above ground pool that was passed down to us. We now have a sand filter and it has a skimmer basket at the bottom of the filter just like yours in the video. Would we be able to put the hose from Wanda inside of there since we don’t have the skimmer that’s attached directly to the side of the pool like yours?
@WhitehouseFarmVet14 күн бұрын
So how is water getting to your pump if no skimmer hole???
@jaydusmejia147614 күн бұрын
@@WhitehouseFarmVetthe pump itself has a skimmer with a basket on it and we have hose that connect it to the pool. It’s a intex above ground pool.
@WhitehouseFarmVet14 күн бұрын
@jaydusmejia1476 I would buy an adapter from lowes or home depot that you could push into the hole in the pool that goes to the skimmer and pump! Or make a reducer that fits the hose and the hole because the Suction would keep it together!!!
@WhitehouseFarmVet14 күн бұрын
As a matter of fact I think the cone adapter that comes with wanda whale should fit into the hole to pump!!!!

I just got the penguin and mu issue is the thing spins around and the hose curls up and makes the cleaner stand up on its side and can’t move anymore, how do you keep this thing from tangling the hose all up?

Honestly we have a big plastic storage container I just pit the whole thing in there not rolled up haven't had any issues the hoses are pretty heavy duty, thank you for watching!👍😊
