One of the odd times where I get them all right but the 200 dollar question😂

I mean to be fair, the 200 kinda had nothing to do with Lincoln...

How is the capital of the Confederacy a $1000 question, and picking out the proper Greek mathematician a $200 question? Discounting the McClellan question that none of them got, those should pretty much be reversed.

Sherman was a steamroller and just burned everything in his path. He gave the towns he was going to warnings like 2 days prior to get out or die. He is probably the largest contributor as to why reconstruction took 10 years to complete. Man went from Arkansas to Georgia.

I only got the last clue correct. The Confederate States of America formed in 1861 as an unrecognized breakaway republic of America with Montgomery, AL as it's first capital and they moved that title to Richmond, VA and kept it for long until it moved to Danville, VA which was a month before the CSA surrendered and dissolved.

"Who is Sherman" when the answer was "Mclellan" is a terrible, terrible answer. It's like the opposite.

Truth! Sherman (like Grant) rocked. McLellan wouldn't fight, wanted the Union to settle for peace with the Confederacy, and eventually ran against Lincoln in the 1864 Presidential election.

Still confused how Mcclellan didn't destroy Lees army at antietam and chase him back to Richmond. He did win but he should have absolutely overwhelmingly obliterated Lee at Antietam considering the fact that he had his battle plans and had over twice the men that Lee did.
@thedesertrat_9514
@thedesertrat_9514 2 жыл бұрын
Because he hated unnecessary risk and was constantly afraid to take his forces to battle. I think at the end of Antietam, Lincoln wept because McClellan wouldn’t pursue Lee
@patrickrobinson7541
@patrickrobinson7541 2 жыл бұрын
@@thedesertrat_9514 yeah but it wasn’t unnecessary risk he had over twice the men and knew exactly where lee was and what he was going to do…think of the hundreds of thousands of soldiers that wouldn’t have died if McClellan was actually a good general…if you put someone like general Meade or Grant in charge of the army of the Potomac at the start of the war then the war would probably have ended in 62 or 63 that’s not even counting the peninsula campaign where McClellan should have won also….point is he didn’t accomplish anything at Antietam besides giving Lincoln the opportunity to announce the emancipation proclamation…
@thedesertrat_9514
@thedesertrat_9514 2 жыл бұрын
@@patrickrobinson7541 Like I said, he didn’t want to take any risk at all. Somehow the Union Army got plagued with incompetent generals in the very beginning even though they outnumbered the Confederates
@patrickrobinson7541
@patrickrobinson7541 2 жыл бұрын
@@thedesertrat_9514 it’s not a risk if you know exactly what’s happening like McClellan did at Antietam but In the other campaigns/battles like the peninsula campaign yeah that’s true
@thedesertrat_9514
@thedesertrat_9514 2 жыл бұрын
@@patrickrobinson7541 But everything carries some type of risk. It’s what you do to mitigate it that makes your mission successful. Even me driving to work carry’s a risk of an accident. I accept it because I need to get to work, but I mitigate the risk by wearing my seatbelt and going the speed limit. In war, leaders have to plan for those risks and mitigate to avoid unnecessary loss. Good leaders plan, mitigate, and accept the risk. In McClellan’s case, he was constantly scared to engage his army. He would plan, but not mitigate and not use his advantage on the battlefield

True fans of jeopardy, will watch the show, no matter who reads the teleprompter (I mean host). I don't even care if a robot reads it. I don't care if Ken, Mike, Rodgers, Cooper, Whitaker, but would always love when women like Mayim would break the glass ceiling, and represents what jeopardy truly stands for.
