Chuck Todd said Sunday he will be leaving “Meet the Press” after almost a decade of moderating the NBC political panel show. NewsNation host Dan Abrams says NBC was probably under pressure to replace Todd since the show was being blasted on social media and suffering in ratings. Aidan McLaughlin, editor-in-chief of Mediaite.com, weighs in.

Abrams is a liberal and they all talk too much. They ask and answer their own questions. The US is maybe 13% black or 13 of every 100. Do you think they are adequetly represented on television?

Dan, Chuck Todd got demoted. Chuck Todd is not a journalist. A journalist does research before they make statements. His statement were typically ignorant and at times even silly.

We need to have an "Alternate" filter for the TV for all the Misinformation. It could go along as a feature for Government and Advertisement Filter.

A good seed to plant but we'll see how fertile the soil. What I am surmising is that 24-hour news is losing its luster. I just saw on the PBS how local news is losing its base which I agree, causes a vacuum that will further put American society into a caste system. All shifts the world has seen for over 4000 years but will still be new to all of us alive now. So, I was sure to watch my local news tonight before switching over to News Nation for desert.

i don't believe a word of Abrams' analysis. The success of these Sunday morning shows depends on being able to attract the actual newsmakers to sit in the chair and answer questions. If you ask hard questions, they think twice about doing a morning news show. Chuck's questions always were just on the side of "what they don't want to answer", and thus, the best in the business. Streaming platforms offer the attractive options of long-form documentaries, like the recent "Grifter Nation." Chuck wants to do that for a while and NBC is glad to have his political savvy leading those projects

Nobody knows the complexities of Chuck's decision. It's never one thing. Trying to boil this into "one" reason is ridiculous.

It's about damn time. It's been rumored for years now b/c of low ratings. Myself, I couldn't stand him, but sometimes watched anyway b/c where I'm at, MTP aired pretty much un-opposed. Hosts need to take a cue from Tim Russert and ask a question and let them talk. You had absolutely no idea which side of the political spectrum he was on. He inherited a floundering, last place MTP, and made it #1. Todd kept interrupting with his own views, his own ideas. Every time he did that, I cringed. How he ever got the prestigious MTP spot, I'll never know. I say good-bye and good riddance.

i don’t know about that, but Dan Abrams has really been showing his ass lately. his “media criticism” is little more than whining about old personal grievances that the other parties have long forgotten. boo-hoo, Christiane Amanpour, boo-hoo Chuck Todd . . . it’s all so deeply personal, and Dan is licking old wounds. pathetic, really.
