@@iru_es well, lets brake this quote down then. What does he say. That if you wake up you see that you and others are the same and that death is waiting. Many have said this and im not sure why id have to be 'awake' to see that. Its very easy to get caught up in charismatic speeches. Its okay to enjoy it but you have to keep your critical thinking cap on and realize he just says what we've already heard. An old speech in a new package.

@@creditsunknown7974 notice how Simon got the I've crown from Scandinavia where the Ice queen story originated from. The Vikings also believed in frost giants that could freeze entire valleys with just a breath though that may be unrelated however I think the Ice queen parallel is entirely intentional and is actually related to the Ice crown in this universe because she was a swedish queen who could also use the powers of ice and snow. Maybe that story is true in adventure time lore and she wore the Ice crown before Simon.

This felt very microcosmic of life to me. You can realize great wisdom about how to be at peace with your life or be in a meditative state, but then suddenly some random other thing inevitably happens, such as the skull being broken in this case, and you can immediately forget the fact that you can choose how to interface with your reality, being swept up again in the problems that just before you had leaned to let go of. This is such a perfect symbolic representation of Adventure time as a whole. The show often when went into existential philosophical places. But it was more focused on being an advocate of being present in life and the world, and being invested in it, as opposed to being disconnected and unattached to it. Finn smashing the skull is him saying "be here now! Concern yourself with and care about your immediate experience!" It's not a message that older stories/pieces of media focused on much, because people didn't used to need to be reminded of that. But it's perfect for our modern age, in which many of us live so much of our lives mediated through digital tools that we can forget what it's like to experience the real world directly, and know how that experience is valuable.

You somehow turned “live in the moment” about a message about technology bad.
@RobinClaassen
@RobinClaassen 16 күн бұрын
@@littlemoth4956 I don't think that Adventure Time had a "technology bad" message. Critically, the show was non-judgemental. It was like "wow, being in the experience of life is really valuable, and we want to share that with you, but you can of course do your thing, whatever that is." And that message hit harder for the generation that watched it because being in the experience of life was something we tended to be more deficient in. If I remember correctly, even when the show did represent technology specifically as something that was separating people from life (when Jake and Finn found the atrophied humans living their lives in a virtual reality world), rescuing BMO aside, their response was more or less one of "that's not for us, but you guys do you."

The easiest way to get into the meditative state is to begin listening. Simply close your eyes and allow yourself to hear all the sounds that are going on around you, listen to the general hum and buzz of the world as you listen to music. Don’t try to identify the sounds you are hearing, don’t put names on them, simply allow them to play with your eardrums. Let them go. In other words, let your ears hear whatever they want to hear. Don’t judge the sounds: there are no proper sounds nor improper sounds, and it doesn’t matter if somebody coughs or sneezes or drops something - it’s all just sound - pretty cool allen watts quote

I think skull’s message was that accepting that the existence of the bad is what makes the good real, and is what brings the world into greater clarity and ends the a person’s need to blame external forces for their struggles. Just my interpretation.

not as something here on probation, not as something that has arrived here by fluke - but you can begin to feel your own existence as absolutely fundamental. I am not trying to sell you on this idea in the sense of converting you to it, I want you to play with it. I want you to think of its possibilities, I am not trying to prove it. I am just putting it forward as a possibility of life to think about. So then, let’s suppose that you were able every night to dream any dream you wanted to dream, and that you could, for example, have the power within one night to dream 75 years of time, or any length of time you wanted to have. And you would, naturally, as you began on this adventure of dreams, you would fulfill all your wishes. You would have every kind of pleasure you could conceive. And after several nights of 75 years of total pleasure each you would say “Well that was pretty great. But now let’s have a surprise, let’s have a dream which isn’t under control, where something is gonna happen to me that I don’t know what it's gonna be." And you would dig that and would come out of that and you would say “Wow that was a close shave, wasn’t it?”. Then you would get more and more adventurous and you would make further- and further-out gambles what you would dream. And finally, you would dream where you are now. You would dream the dream of living the life that you are actually living today. That would be within the infinite multiplicity of choices you would have. Of playing that you weren't God, because the whole nature of the godhead, according to this idea, is to play that he is not. So in this idea then, everybody is fundamentally the ultimate reality, not God in a politically kingly sense, but god in the sense of being the self, the deep-down basic whatever there is. And you are all that, only you are pretending you are not.

@WarriorMonk101

@boxdoesgames You need to pay attention. Play with the idea not insult for the suggestion of it. You Insult him and then adopt one of Watts ideas as your own. Also thinking of yourself as an ant is unhealthy and is not what everyone is. People understand that some stars are bigger than them but do they feel infiror to the star. Well let's hope not because that attitude is mindless. If you feel insignificant then you are but I feel powerfull because I can wield the tools I have been given and understand my role. To go against the system is what everyone does and it is a endless path. A rock uses its time to be a rock I use my time to be a human and trying to break that pattern is mindless. Everyone trys to break it people that work mindlessly in a job are living in an illusion that they think is all it is to being human. they break there real purpose of being what they want to be and get demotivated by everyone else to keep going with it. Humans gods and rocks we all have the same goal but don't know what to do about it.
