For sure. I love brass because it machines so easily and nicely, and I hate brass cause those shavings are stupid to clean out of everything. lol

I have made thousands of aluminum bronze and brass bushing. I couldn’t agree more, need a machine dedicated for it because it goes EVERYWHERE. Face shield on manual lathes

We all deal with crap materials. We recently added an EDM sinker dept. without graphite machining mills. They will pay for it pretty soon!! Super high speeds with super abrasive material "dust". What could go wrong?

I remember manual iso programming that kind of stuff ( sucks since you need to keep check of where it's been well think and calculate to the side that's cutting. And you have to tell it each line since there Isnt a cycle for that stuff) though with that said it's so satisfying to see it work when you manually iso programmed it

These toolpaths are great for brass , definitely have to run a high feed rate to brake a chip in steel though .

What's the reason behind "computer" for compensation type? Do typically avoid cutter comp on lathe cuts?
@mikhaildavydenko6841
@mikhaildavydenko6841 3 жыл бұрын
Not only on the lathes, but on the mills one. Cutter compensation is using usually when you want to do universal things like… mill a pocket with endmill of size you have at the moment or something like this and not recalculate the tool path each time
@mikhaildavydenko6841
@mikhaildavydenko6841 3 жыл бұрын
But computer compensation is used just only where you really need correction on your cutter and have the same tools every, every time from your tool listing in the operation map
@mikhaildavydenko6841
@mikhaildavydenko6841 3 жыл бұрын
This type of compensation also aware you from many mistakes you can make while you INPUT tool radius in the tool table
