‘Absolutely right’: PM urged to listen to Jacinta Price on Alice Springs crisis

Shadow Environment Minister Jonathon Duniam says Senator Jacinta Price “knows what needs to happen” to help with the crime crisis in Alice Springs.
“The best thing the PM could do would be to take the advice of a local,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Jacinta is not a fly-in politician.
“She lives there - that is her community.
“She knows what needs to happen.”

Your comment mentions tribal which I do agree with. It backs the fact that there were only tribes however it contradicts the First Nations part. There was never a First Nation. There was a bunch of nomadic tribes that warred with each other. No cities or towns. No government. No infrastructure. No growing crops for food. Therefore no nation and if that’s your way I’m glad that Australians voted down the VOICE. I know plenty of aboriginal people who are doing well, have worked hard for what they have and make good choices for themselves and their family. Needs based care not skin colour or race. 😎👊👍🇦🇺

When speech therapists get over 100$ an hour plus travel, people get free rego and firewood. It just goes on, nobody seems to be responsible. The free rego is not needed, nor is the firewood lawns and garden care, all for a kid with mild autism. It is ridiculous, how about paid holidays for carers of business owners- while they take the sufferers on holidays-daily fishing trips. I have seen and witnessed fantastic caring nurses take heavily impaired people out and about. Some of these people were fully cognizant, but unable to communicate, others were more impaired than the blind. We need lines and we need very heavy penalties, exactly the same as the waste on Aborigines.

Regarding ndis, being disabled does not mean you need to have a shit life. Reasonable costs for beneficial social engagement should not be locked out by what is done and instead determined based on value and the proposition of the members needs. “Medical” also means having a reason to live and when you do have hope and feel like you are included you will be far more likely to see improvement across all of your physical and mental conditions. Yes thesuystem must be regulated more effectively- and that needs to start with rent seeking contractors sub contracting for under service and effectively signing up members to defraud them. It is pink batts all over and screwing the disabled with the mindset they must be driven to suicide is not how you do it.

We have had the military and police in communities before and the last time was 2009 when they did the second intervention . Jacinta all elders need to start stepping up and this should not just be a problem for the tax payer . It’s time money for Aboriginal reduces until there is more accountability especially for their actions with youth crime and make these communities accountable for their youth. Start charging the parents and there is no excuses that they get away for their youth causing damage to property and businesses. The parents need to also take control or be punished for the crimes of youth
