I know right. Been to the panthers stadium many times. Its is far from Decrepit. Their is no reason for a new stadium, its a football stadium for football fans. This isn't FedEx field. The city isn't big enough to host a super bowl. Their is no reason to spend billions on a stadium at this time. Maybe if the second richest owner in the NFL wants one so badly he should pay for it himself.

@@zch7491 So let them move. Spending billions to keep a team for 8 games a year is absurd. there are a limited number of cities that really will fork over billions of tax payer money for a new stadium. They might talk a good deal but getting approval from the voters is another thing. The move threat post vegas is done. Vegas was litterly the on of few cities willing to put up the money because they have revenue coming in from gabling and other out of town people to pay for it. Utah will not vote to use tax payer money, Kansas talks a good game but has not gotten any approval from the voters who have already turned down the Chiefs and Royals a number of times. The move is an empty threat and even if they do move so what. Cities are better off without the billions hanging over them for the most part.

Not entirely true. Europe just funds them differently but owners still get hand outs. New Stadium in London got grants and other government backing. Europe uses grants which is the same thing as cities issuing Bonds. Also in Europe most projects are smaller because soccer stadium typically max out at 19 or 20K seats not 60 K like NFL. Because USA has more places to relocate a team to. Europe teams don't. So they can't leverage a city or metropolitan area to finance. Also Europe is dozens upon dozens of countries. While USA is massive in land size. Europe teams rarely leave their country to play in another European country anyway. Because of USAs it's massive size has more metropolitan areas than any one European nation has. Europe is population is condensed into cities. DG, I respect you, but have you actually been to BOA stadium? Its not a "decrepit" stadium as you put it. Its been taken good care of since it was built, it has plenty of seating capacity, and is in a great location. You entire video makes the stadium sound like FedEx field, or some 80 year old Div 2 college stadium. Yeah its not a billion dollar mega stadium, but the charlotte doesn't really need one of those. They are not going to get a super bowl, and with the spectrum center down the road their are few events that can use the field size and seating capacity other than football or soccer. If Tepper wants a new stadium so bad, he can build it himself. Hell the guy won't even pay for his own practice facilities.
@ArizonaHotSauce
@ArizonaHotSauce 12 күн бұрын
What's ironic to your statement is that the tax payers will pay. The tax payers are the voters and they vote for it nearly every single time. The few situations where they didn't vote on it, it was up to the elected officials (who the tax payers voted to make decisions for them) who then allowed tax money to be used. If you disagree with it, like many people do then vote for change.

The issue is they can't trust and HATE David Tepper. Especially considering what happened in SC. Tepper Tantrum represents everything the Carolinas dislikes about having an outsider as an owner. Tepper is a jerk who also condescending and believes he somehow brought modernity and "live music" the Carolinas. The issue is Charlotte Metro area has grown so much especially from annexation and is under perpetual building projects. People are already tired of the constant construction and beginning to feel crowded with hordes of people moving in. The Bank of America stadium is in a perfect location. You seem to think money grows on trees. Building a new stadium to copycat the other owners is probably a minimum of $3billion. Thinking that governments should continually build new stadiums every 25 years is ludicrous and unsustainable. It isn't only one stadium. You have to build them for baseball and basketball too. Ticket prices are already unaffordable to most people and you think these people who can't afford tickets to games should subsidize rich people's parties. I say this as a huge football fan. It is time that this stuff gets reined in.

PSL owner from the beginning... there's nothing wrong with the stadium. Location is great. Condition is still very good. Worst seats in the house (like mine, lol) still have great sight lines. Open end zone stadiums are the weird and ugly ones... they always look like they ran out of money and couldn't finish it.

At least the spectrum center makes sense, since it can host so many events. I don't see the point of spending a billion dollars of tax payer money for something that will be mainly used for a few home football and soccer games, and some occasional event that can actually use that seating capacity.

@@40EastTrill Charlotte better come up with that new stadium money then. If not Tepper will relocate. Just because it don’t make sense to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense to Tepper. It’s a different game and economy now and Tepper is a hedge fund guy. It’s not just podcasters, it’s executives in the NFL that want to expand to Europe. The package that’ll be offered will be to good to turn down. Unlike you I know people who know Tepper and he loves Germany. He’s giving the fans of Charlotte a chance to keep the team by building a new stadium and if it fails say adios to the Panthers. If not Europe, it’ll be somewhere else stateside.

Worse? The rendering for the Jags stadium looks awesome! Getting a transparent state of the art roof. A wind catching design that will create way cooler temps in the stands. Using a product that surrounds the stadium but is transparent like sun glasses so you can see out while reducing UV rays. 2x wider concourses. Updated box seats. Updated seats throughout the entire stadium. Press button seat expansion for FL/GA game. For only $1.4bill. That's far more than what the Panthers are showing. Their rendering is bland as hell and will not hold up the next 10yrs given these other renovated or new stadiums. Guarantee if the city approves it the NFL will say.....no.
