Mammals (Whales and such) tails move up and down. Sharks/fish move left and right. A good way to tell what they are at a distance.

This game actually makes me think and imagine about, not just the ocean, but other worlds out there (due to the space / ethereal feel of the hub area). As beautiful as this game is, due to the imagination of one man, imagine how beautiful scenes and environments there are out there in space and on other worlds (especially in alien oceans with their flora and fauna all swimming around interacting like this), to be discovered. This is the power of imagination, and this is why humanity always strives to go further and explore. There's infinite incomprehensible unimaginable beauty in the universe, and we're still just on Earth, having barely seen any of it. (But Earth is very beautiful too)

Baleur I wish humanity could unite as a species and focus on important issues. I know we can, but it will take a lot of effort and I'm not sure we have the time. I see every lifeform as beautiful. According to the multiverse theory, anything the human mind can imagine must exist somewhere within some universe. This means, that everything in Abzu, even the astral plane, exists somewhere, which is beautiful.

I saw your first video on this, loved it, watched all Abzu videos in general that I could find, not just yours, and then when I ran out of videos, I couldn't wait for more, bought the game and finished it in a couple of hours. One of my favorite games EVER! Can't wait to see your reaction to the ending. : )

It's great how you let us all chill out while you're exploring everything, because this game isn't about rushing trhough everything as fast as you can, rather enjoying the whole surrounding etc. Also, i guess you're having another aquarium trip with Lauren and Weasel soon. :D

Whale Sharks are the biggest fish on Earth, and they are filter feeders like some whales. I love this game, and can't play it myself, so more please! :)

Every picture of a basking shark I see freaks me out because of how big they are. Their not carnivorous, but instead filter feeders, so they eat things like krill. But what about them scares me is that they so big - second biggest fish after the whale shark. They can grow to 10m while the whale shark can get to 12m. They're big, and as much as big sea creatures fascinate me, they still scare me. And I love it.

Orcas and sharks aren't all that hostile in real life. In fact, it is perfectly rational to get close to a lot of sharks. The only real hostile shark is the bull shark.

13:15 cutting a bit too much footage out, rapid scene changes. Breaks our immersion as the viewers. Dont be afraid to leave more footage in even if it is "empty swimming", it is part of the journey and experience.

The 'Whale Shark' is the biggest Shark on Earth

The whale shark is the largest living shark, and therefore the largest living fish. They are filter feeders like the basking shark. They're also endangered, like most everything in the ocean.

The sounds for the whales are accurate, although they use them for the other types which is not accurate later in the game. Because basking sharks are filter feeders, they constantly swim with their mouths open to catch as many krill as possible.

The little drones are sentries to the Entity. The entity is the giant Triangle, and isn't [REDACTED] nearly safe The drones assist you in your menial activities, and likely assisted the first you in past activities. Imagine doing everything in reverse. That is "past main character"

IGP. Press "E" on any animal you ride. You can also control any animal you ride. Just hold right click and I believe left click and use wasd to turn.

Agent Maine Technically, you can't control every animal at the same level. Feeding animals will fight the control while others like the elasmosaur simply can't be controlled.

Humans created Abzû (that's what I'm calling the robot you play as) to explore the oceans, but Abzû became obsolete when they created suits for them but humans were wiped out by a unknown force. Then Abzû woke up from a mysterious refueling and used its previous goal and continued exploring using the MERs as help to explore. Miniature Exploration Robots

Penguin Zeski Actually, the ancient race in the murals created Abzû to protect the oceans or as a fallback plan. Humans evolved and became selfish and materialistic, destroying the oceans. Abzû had all the genetic information of every sea creature, which means it was tasked with cloning the extinct creatures and repopulating the seas.

Its a fucking beast. If this was Cryengine, maybe it could look the same, but it'd run at 4fps. God i wish Star Citizen was developed in Unreal Engine 4 instead, it'd probably be half as buggy and twice as fluid.

I do believe those glowing things are real, though I'm not sure what exactly they are. They could be a type of gloworm, crustacean, plankton, even algae. The way they dim when you near them leads me to believe they are more intelligent than algae though.

11:15 i always thought this was so weird, maybe a bug. You're GIVING chain slack to the door, in order to PULL it open. Doesnt make any sense. I really think its supposed to be animated the other way, to PULL the door open, surely? How does giving more slack in the chain make any sense? xD

Baleur Well, the chain activates the release of the dense blue liquid, so perhaps by giving chain, it releases a plug or something.

I feel like the diver is a descendant of the people on the wall. By the looks of it they worship the Sharks. The diver even feels the need to meditate on shark statues.

If you really think about it this world seems like it is only ocean. Yet you have the ability to solve these puzzles and to think like you created them. You don't even have to breathe air in. From the looks of it there is no oxygen tank. You bring life in to the ocean. Hostile creatures don't attack you. They attack your robots because they do not recognize it because they do not have the knowledge.

Blah Blah The diver was created by the people on the wall. It has the genetic information of every sea creature stored so it can clone them in case of extinction. Btw, there are no hostile creatures in the ocean. Just because a creature has the potential to be dangerous doesn't mean it's automatically hostile.

IGP killer whales are actually one of the most dangerous "fish" in the sea, but they are also tameable and the sharks you have rode on are no lethal sharks, reef backs and basking and whit tips are all no harmful sharks same goes for whale sharks

Jacob Smith Orcas may be dangerous, but not towards humans. It's the other way around. There are zero recorded instances of wild orcas attacking humans. Only captive whales do because they go insane. Also, no shark is really lethal. Dangerous, yes however they will always choose fish over humans. Sharks have even been recorded seeking human help if they're caught in fishing line or net and will return to the area where it was rescued as if to check up on its rescuer.

Fantavious Giraffe Do you work with captive or wild whale sharks? I have a major issue with large creatures being kept in captivity. I recognize they're endangered, it's just I think we could do better than keeping them in aquariums. For instance, open ocean pens or sea coves could be teed to rehabilitate marine creatures or even house those who will never be able to be truly wild. They'd get to hear and feel the ocean, and they'd have a lot more space.

Orcas aren't hostile to humans almost all of the time and most sharks will not attack a person unless they are bleeding or are on the surface and look like a seal

Ech0gh0st No that's real too. Divers do swim with wild orcas. There are zero recorded instances of wild orcas attacking humans. Only captive whales attack humans because they go insane.
