Quick correction: It is not the same devs that made journey, just the same art director!

Just thought I'd mention it, "underwater water" is a real scientific thing! When you are in highly volcanic areas, or areas with a large amount of fresh and salt water you get what is known as "Underwater Rivers", where the density of the Underwater River water is higher than the rest of the water! It's really cool!

As a marine biologist, this game makes me so sad. The world's oceans used to be just as full of life only 100 years ago. So much has been lost. I only hope, someday, it can return to the way it was.

The Abzu is a sweetwater ocean from the summerian mythology and also the name of one of the best Black Metal Bands in the World.

Journey has always been my favourite game to watch. It's just so immersive and so beautiful that it took my breath away right from the start. When you told it was from the same creator (read director) my heart skipped a beat. This game really gives you the same feeling of being small in a big and beautiful mysterious setting. This reminds me of Endless Ocean. It's that old scuba diving with game from 2008 or something. I used to play it a lot. It's pretty fun and relaxing plus the dialogue for the cut scenes is freaking funny.

The music and art kind of reminds me of a movie called ponyo which brings back happy memories

I think the underwater water is a large hyper-saline pool... though it could just be space magic for plot reasons.
