I've just finished it, it's fantastic. One thing you haven't mentioned, though, is it also has a great story. Environmental storytelling is tight.

before you play, set your controls to normal as default is inverted, i only found out mid game i could do it. Once i changed them i had a rough time navigating cause i got so used to inverted and was swiming all over the place lol.

This is exactly the type of game I'm looking for from time to time. A relaxing experience, just something which makes you run (or swim) around and just simply watch in awe. How everything moves, what everything looks like, exploring stuff. Just something to relax to.

Played this on day one and LOVED it! The visuals, sound, and controls are extraordinary. It is short, but I feel its worth every penny due to the reduced price. This may sound like hyperbole, but I liked it so much I would put this game in my top 5 game experiences ever.

Although I wish it was longer, I really appreciate ABZU for what it is. Replay value is debatable, there isn't much to do once you play it again, but if you enjoy the peaceful environment and scenery, it's nice to come back to it. I really enjoyed the way the story was left open to interpretation, and it had me drawn in. The ending made me happy and I could say this game can bring out beautiful emotions without any words, just music and special moments. I don't regret buying it.

As someone who loved Journey, this looks pretty killer.

Do a 10 things "mobile" gamers hate. One for phone gamers and one for "on the go" laptop gamers...here I'll start, #10:cables...the 20 cables I have to carry, from usb3c to hdmi to lan to USB charge cable's, from Kensington locks to audio cables both headphone and mixer...and with all "gaming" bags being shyt, this alone is a messy thing to deal with daily. Oh and falcon has to do the voiceover.

I got it on Switch on sale for $15. I'm loving it. There was a Dreamcast-era Sega arcade game called Ocean Hunter that I love. This is like that combined with journey. The art is gorgeous, the nature and mystery is so cool, the swimming mechanics work great, and the music is indeed splendid.

4:12 when I hear "as someone who never really cared about the ocean" my face cannot help but do a "yikes" of disappointment 🙄

I love how you made that connection to the classic Tomb Raider games because I simply cannot hear that clarinet(?, not sure which instrument it actually is) without instantly and constantly thinking of TR's original theme. Jesus the shark jumpscare though. Other then that, its very refreshing. I'm usually terrified of everything under the water (*cough* friggin shark scare *cough*) but this was just gorgeous and great.

I personally think that the whale scene is one of the best scenes in the game, it's so beautiful but also terrifying. Whenever you compare your size to these gentle giants as you swim down to the bottom of the ocean.

ABZU itself is kinda based in flOw, Flower and Journey. Jenova Chen (creator of those three games at thatgamecompany) was involved in the development of ABZU and is a close friend of Matt Nava, director of this game. To put it simply, Giant Squid is kind of the successor of Thatgamecompany. That's why they feel so similar

I saw a let's play of this game, and even though I knew how the story progressed, I bought it anyway. This is an awesome game if you're just looking to relax and see a spectacle. It won't wow you with plot, but the visuals take me to a place I want to see again in real life. Wonderful experience.

This game was absolutely great. If you're the type of gamer who has somewhat an artistic perception of games (if you loved SotC, Flower, Journey or even maybe Dark Souls/Zelda atmosphere), if you like calm/relaxing games and if you love adventures then this one is definitely for you. The only complaint I have about this game is it's length. I was always worried throughout the game that the amazing experience would end soon.

This was an amazing game. I’ve never been able to explore the ocean from top to bottom in quite such a way. I was able to experience the world thought the eyes of a sea creature such as sea currents and the loneliness of the abyss. 10/10 shortgame 1000g score given too!

i was surprised to see this channel cover this game and i'm glad you guys did , when i first saw this game it intrigued me and still does to hear that a easy two hour game gave you that much sense of fun , to me says a lot for its style i watched a sony interview of one of the devs for this game and he talked about how most of the fish and their features are based upon real marine life in the ocean so for its price i just might give it a shot.

Warning for some people. I played it for about an hour or two and I got extremely motion sick. It is a beautiful game and it is a good game. But the motion all around you and your constant motion can cause motion sickness if you are sick easily like me.

This game was free on PS Store and wow, even for the simplicity of it, I'd still pay $30 for this game just for the chill music and sights and art. That's legit what this game is, is live art. It's just a peaceful game to pass time by and that's hard to find now days. Especially one that keeps you interested. Definitely an underrated game in my opinion.

I genuinely really enjoyed Abzu and as someone who didn't play Journey I didn't know what to expect mostly because I only knew what the visuals were like, But since it is so visually stunning it really adds to the experience.

I bought the game when it was launched on PC. And loved it, so good game. And, several years after, it's free on PSStore and I "bought" it again for my PS4. I missed it a lot. The music is so good, the game is so relaxing! :D

Really good video summarizing the game. I finished it a while ago, so while it was nearly the same experience like Journey (just without the clear story and set in underwater environment), the atmosphere, the ocean, everything in this game is so beautiful. Exploring, having a fun riding a fish, or just swimming... Yeah, it's a little linear and short (like Journey), but it's not that bad. I can recommend it, worth the money and revisiting.

At times I though of it as an art museum or an opera performance but my favourite level makes me think of it as a ballet performance with me as the star of the show if you’re wondering it’s the second to last chapter or chapter 7

Without knowing it's from the same people that made 'Journey', I thought of that game straight away. Sort of reminded me of 'Zelda- Wind waker too. I loved 'Journey' and this looks just as enjoyable too. perfect for V.R - headphones.
