I find it so interesting how this game's perception among the community switched almost 180 over the course of a decade, I vividly remember liking it when I was much younger and being a little disheartened by seeing online reviewers give it more shit than I thought it deserved. I'm just glad to see it get the credit it deserves now

Arno was honestly the most dangerous Assassin ever. He's just so smooth and creative with his assassinations. Look at that high profile environmental assassination where he pushed the big guy against the cart and stabbed him. Whereas in rpg trash the enemy's head would have clipped through wall from that running assassination

And after watching this years later, i REALLY want to play this game more like we all wished it would have been. (And this looks much closer with these mods)

These are the kind of videos I watch whenever I end up getting more and more gaslit by everyone else into thinking that I'm supposed to like what happened to Assassin's Creed when it jumped the shark and turned into a bloated, grindfest RPG with little to no actual assassin-esque things being in focus. I've had to argue with RPG AC apologists multiple times why I, as a long-time Assassin's Creed fan, think that, in spite of its issues (at launch especially), Unity was where AC peaked when it comes to delivering what I've always wanted to see in the AC franchise. If only Ubisoft decided to set this as the foundation moving forward to build upon and polish. Nope. That's not what we got. For me, Assassin's Creed should focus on what it takes to be an assassin. It's in the fricking title in the first place. It's why I have so much respect for the HITMAN franchise even tho I didn't agree with all of the changes done to the World of Assassination titles. It took into account the very name and core audience. What do true HITMAN fans want? And that's the same kind of question that Ubisoft refuses to truly answer. Sure, Mirage is a step back somehow, but it's definitely missing so much from what used to be one of my favorite gaming franchises to ever exist. I've said it in many comments I've done before, and I'll say it, again... it's sad how a game like Ghost of Tsushima can be a better AC game in literally one outing... while the formula for AC was always there if only those in the positions of authority and power actually decided to dedicate time and effort into pushing that essence forward instead of dropping it for the sake of pushing the Witcher-at-home version we ended up getting more and more.

I knew I wasn't the only person that saw myself as the Batman of Revolutionary France.
