it breaks my heart that this movie wasn’t even nominated for ONE Oscar, one of the most unique movies I’ve ever seen.

Anything inspired by working in a call center has my complete attention. Last year I made a silent film inspired by working in a call center. Weird dynamics in that environment. Definitely looking forward to seeing SORRY TO BOTHER YOU.

If a movie with the lines “nigga shit nigga shit nigga nigga nigga shit” wins an Oscar (even one of the less important ones) then I’d be soooo happy

I just wanna know who came up with the joke in the scene where Tessa's character reveals her art performance costume and about eight people take a sip from their drinks at the same time.

The Master & your Daddy. Except that’s a v small part of the film and it’s a much wider and zanier film than that. Well worth watching.

This was good but not that original. Very much like Richard Pryor's movie Which Way Is Up, down to the girlfriend leaves him for his homey. It's minus the raucous laughs, plus the psychedelic, far out depictions of corporate manipulation of the "working class", with past and current labor union demonization of same. Same problems different century!
@FunkFight1
@FunkFight1 5 жыл бұрын
Nah. Squeeze isnt his "homey" in any way. They barely know each other and are on opposite sides of the fight. Which way is up is actually a critique of unions (a bullshit one- repeated at the time often by mainstream media, I'd say). In which way is up the main character joins a union and becomes a "corrupt" union leader. If you mean that both movies have a union struggle, then yeah. Which way is up is an english language remake of the italian film "the seduction of mimi" anyway- with the class consciousness taken out. Which way is up is not a film that ages well, comedy wise. It's pretty silly, a predecessor to eddie Murphy's the lumps. I think sorry to bother you will last longer.

@@FunkFight1 i will watch it. thanks for the info. this movie was awesome. to be fair though, every major union in america IS corrupted. look at the aflcio. look at teamsters. i think you are bound to get corruption when you elect leaders. which is why we need decentralized unions. tbh id prefer worker co ops anyway. unions feel like a bandage on a gunshot wound at this point. cheers friend.
