I have all the ports I need on my laptop, even a second ssd. Now with the mac mini, I'm going to have to get used to it with a lot of external ssds and other adapters 😅

If I’m simply using the hub to store family photos, do I need the 40 gbs transfer speeds or will this 10 gbs transfer speed work? I like the added ports so I’m leaning to the 10-in-1 but wanted to hear the group’s thoughts.

Ive got my MPB14 connected to the usbc and the PD to my Dell 38" screen. Power comes through, but the video doesn't. any clues? HDMI works just fine though. thanks for your content as always!

do this device require power, meaning when connected to a computer or other device is their usb power to use the features, I would like to use this for a Mac Pro 2013 which has Thunderbolt 2 and this being usb-c sometimes require power just to use it.

Hello Alex. Definitely like the ports and the upgradability of the enclosure. Does the device always need an external (65W or better) power source? Or, can it be powered by 12.9 inch M1 iPad Pro for all (or some) of the functionality? Please discuss, thank you

Hi there I think you do get some port functionality without the power but I will double check. For the SSD to work you definitely need it though. I always have my monitor PD coming into it with the iPad or Tab S8 Ultra so everything works fine. I think with the MacBook Pro I don’t always need the external source but will check that too.

It will almost certainly be related to power. Make sure you are getting at least 65W coming into the hub and I am sure you will be fine! Let me know if not, but from experience, that's usually the problem. I connect it to my monitor's USB-C which also provides the hub with power.

Yes, I use that a lot. When I’m at home I sometimes use an OWC hub and sometimes not plugged into the power, just depends if I’m transferring a lot of data

I use it with Dex but what I do is I connect the USB-C Power Delivery port from the external monitor into the hub (it likes 65W minimum) and then the Tab S8 Ultra to the other USB-C port, works really well. I haven't tried it with a phone like S22 Ultra or Fold 4 yet but I will do and let you know if it works

Is this adequate for being daily used for large chunk of hours, or could it overheat and damage quicker than other docks on the market, with a daily long usage?

I’ve been using it daily for a few months now, all good. I also tried their latest USB4 drive (not the hub), very happy with it. As long as you have the right amount of power coming into it (min 65W I think) this will be fine

what is the chipset for the nvme? does it have full compatability with M1 chip and wake from sleep? no one likes to reboot just to see the data drive.

Hi there, not sure what the chipset is but I use 4 of them now, across my M1 Max MBP and M2 Macbook Air. As long as you have enough power going into them (65W min I believe for the hub) everything works fine. I've heard people getting disconnected but that was due to low power going into the hub. Like I said even my M2 MBA works fine with this. I use the 2TB cards from Sabrent that I shared in the description. Hope this helps

Do not take off that "sticker" it is a thermal pad to transfer the heat off the ssd. Nvme ssds get very warm.

1. Its 80 w PD to PC 2. USB does not support DP 3. Speeds of USB 3.1 on M1 air are halfed

Hi there. I use it with my M1 iPad Pro, works fine. Just watch for the list of compatible SSDs from the Acasis website. For long transfers or working with video editing you want it plugged into a 65W source to be honest but for casual use straight into the iPad works ok

Funnily enough, that’s the monitor I have. I use the M8 cable to power it and it’s also the “PC” source. You can use the HDMI too of course but I prefer the USB-C connection

Hi there, most likely not getting enough power. Make sure the PD port is connected to an input of at least 65W, it will work fine then

Good info, but no one ever talks about the connection cords, whether or not it's compatible with an older iMac like the 2013 iMac's that have A ports. I believe this device has C connection cord. Correct? There's talk about all this speed, but no mention that you have to have a certain port on your Mac for any of it to work. Do you know about any of this? If so, can you reply and give me some info about that. If so, I'll subscribe, and if the info is helpful, I'll recommend your channel to 5 friends who are interested in things like this. Lastly, please start including this kind of info. Let us see you connect it and everything. That would be great, cause no one wants to buy products only to return them with a sad face on.
