@Adam Kopasz They were so lucky they ended up playing two away games in the course of the tournament, as both Gardner-Webb and Purdue were in driving range of the venue and their fans thus took over the stands. So lucky they had to play a very late night game following an overtime match between Tennessee and Purdue that resulted in a 10:30 start that greatly favored west coast Oregon in the Sweet 16. So lucky they faced the two hottest teams in the tournament (Oregon and Auburn) and the hottest shooter (Edwards) on an otherworldly run. So lucky they also had to face the #1 defense in the country in the championship and still hung 85 on them. Yes, they got lucky a couple times---you don't win a natty without some luck along the way, regardless of how good you are--but they also had to overcome some serious headwinds and a tournament schedule that by chance or design seemed intended to disfavor them.

@Adam Kopasz If you want to call the double-dribble, then you also have to call the deliberate foul on Ty that preceded it. Reverse angle clearly shows his jersey was grabbed hard before he picked the ball back up, but the refs didn't call it even though they knew Auburn was deliberately fouling (because they had fouls to give) as Jerome advanced the ball in the closing seconds of the game. You might also call the missed travel on Auburn off an inbounds pass at 19 seconds that would have given Virginia the ball back down 2. My point is, people act as if the double-dribble decided everything and the refs handed Virginia the game. Well, here are three missed calls in the final five minutes that favored Auburn. In fairness, I didn't catch the travel at 19 seconds left when it happened live (much like the double-dribble), so I don't blame the refs for missing it. I do blame them for not calling Jerome getting hacked at 4:37 or getting his jersey grabbed on a deliberate foul attempt, given they were blatant and there was an official right there to see it. Doubly so for the jersey grab, given they knew Auburn was deliberately fouling.

@@tywinters9462 If you want him to stay consistent Duke has design plays for him and give him more freedom. He's showing what he can do as a 3rd option. I really think he'd be a much confident shooter if they believed in him more.

To me he has the most potential out of all these guys. He has the body, length, ball handling and shot to be an elite in the next level. I still feel that they need to run more plays for him. They should use him like a reggie miller or a richard hamilton. Those guy were deadly shooters. Cam can be the same.

Focused All Day I’ve watched all the interviews where Cam gives credit to the coaches and players believing in him and encouraging him to continue shooting even when he was slumping. He’s got all the support he needs and has really improved.

Dee Tre’s got a high iq and understands when teams are overplaying Zion and RJ and has that playmaking ability to score when the team needs him to. It’s a relief to see Cam playing up to his normal standard on offense.
