I'm assuming it's to despawn the sanguine noble that was following him. Those guys follow you from the previous room and they can throw reduvias like kukris which would probably oneshot. So I'm assuming it's just a safety quit out.

Honest question, wouldn't it be faster to just go get the Reduvia, proceed Yura to the Academy, do that invasion while using the severing finger, and then talking to Varre? Or was this done specifically for the weapon?

Radahn skip jump it’s patched, right? I tried today 22/6/24 and doesn’t work.

Edit: You don’t even need to jump, just go to the bridge of the castle and the portal will be activated and you can go directly to the fight by the elevator
