A look at leg injuries in womens judo. Leg locks are illegal techniques in Judo, however due to the dynamic nature of the sport, horrendous leg injuries can occur. This video looks at a number of examples of these and compares them to the types of holds popular in grappling.
One thing I've noticed is that all, but one of these injuries occured in a left vs right situation, so it has me rethinking the level of risk involved in going against an opponent with an opposite sided stance.
