Finally here, not the one I originally wanted but after travelling behind the real Erlestoke Manor on the WSR, this was an excellent replacement.
Makes a strange noise when first moving off sometimes but appart from that, very pleased. sounds good, not as loud as the Dapol one.
Up to you which you thinks better.
Thanks too @accurascaleuk1427 for allowing those let down by Hornby Magazine and Key Publishers to order even though they are sold out.

Just noticed I said that the Dapol model has the decoder in the tender. It doesn't....its in the smoke box.

I noticed an unusual clanking sound synchronized to the Dapol model's running speed, something not present in the Accurascale loco. Could you clarify whether this sound is intended to mimic rail clanking or something else?

Neither is better than the other. I love the Accurascale, Dapol and Bachmann Manor models equally. I'm a Great Western Girl, so show me a GWR Manor hard at work, and I'll show you how much I truly love her. What is it about the Manor engines that makes me love them so much? My answer is this: their sharp bark and shrill Swindon whistle are music to my ears. What's not to love about God's Wonderful Railway?

It may be as you describe, I have two and like their looks, but...the motor is so weak that the model will Not pull the skin of the skin off a rice pudding...metaphorically speaking of course! I have several videos of them hauling four six-wheel vans and just stopping at various and different places around the clean and flat layout with the wheels just spinning away ... Even light engine they will do the same. Absolute Rubbish in comparison to the Dapol version!

The Accurascale decision to put cheap three pole motors in turned me off. Glad I didn't buy one now. That poor decision was highlighted in Sam's Trains video. The Dapol colour scheme looks so wrong... have not bought that either. Thanks for the video. 😮

The Accurascale's has a fair bit more detail. There's more under the boiler and in the cab. The boiler on the Dapol is more tapered, be interesting to know which model is more accurate on the shape. I think the Accurascale when comparing to the real thing. I had a really noisy motor on my first Torquay, sent it back for an exchange. Much better. However, the Dapol motor is much better performer. Swings and roundabouts really.

The Accura Boiler has the correct shape. The Dapol Boiler is wrong. I was see that as i was see the first Pictures from the Dapol Manor and was think direct okay i wait for the Accura and that is realy a great Modell. The Dapol ha even more Points i dont like the Chrome Safty Dom it looks not real and i dont like the Chrome look and the Wheels can also look more finer. The biggest negativ point by the Dapol is the slitline along the Boiler... that a no go in that Area.

Hi. I bought one. Straight from Accurascale. The sound volume was low. When I checked. It was already at the highest setting. I mentioned it to a model shop, and they agreed they had issues with volume level being low too. How’s yours?

Yep. I did. The shop owner had one of his own. He replaced the chip to another brand. And the sound was amazing. Extremely lifelike even for 00.

Copper cap doesn’t fit chimney properly on accurascale, otherwise two splendid models.

I’ve had two cookhams, both returned due to non working stay alives and poor running through double slips and r2 curves, it’s slowed right down when at anything other than 1/2 speed or above, you could hear the pitch of the motor change as it struggled. ended up getting a refund, no waiting for my retailer to return it to AS for warranty work. Lovely model but mechanically AS need to improve

Apart from the cheap-skate schoolby errors just where do Acc's expect anybody to keep those ridiculous sized boxes...Dapol win hands-down on motor, performance, and packaging!
