First Pag shot, yes he moved the three on Reyes side, but he also took both those shots Reyes had there previous to that away. I'm not convinced that is a negative outcome, depends on how quickly Reyes can fix the problem, at least on if he fixes them before he needs one of those balls. Almost certainly he will. Shocker, next shot, but it did cost him an inning, even then, but yeah, now he has three. And what a shot, all four balls lined up. Again, shocker. As you say, Efren seems to see the right shot, even when it isn't there, at times, not here on that shot, but at times. Reyes six for ten at this event, holy sh** Batman...and with his age and health. Superhuman. It's gonna SUCK when he stops playing pro one pocket, if he ever does. I miss him in all the rest of the games, as I'm sure do most pool fans. BOTH these guys can invent a one pocket shot in the last minute, if they have to..like that no room cue ball pass between the three and ten, WTHeck??? Incredible. If I tried that I'd be 80% to a disaster. As far as I'm concerned that is a highlight reel shot, especially since he was in a bind for the game ball. About $1,000,000 above my pay grade. I've pointed out Mark's Efren's tremendous advantages knowing three cushion, etc more than once in comments. Agree 100%. Always seemed immensely obvious to me, and when you get that Efren becomes even more interesting to watch. It plays into all aspects of his game, and allows some safeties other players would find more difficult. And then there's that five cushion during that absurdly entertaining 8 ball run of Melling's that ABSOLUTELY looked like a trick shot, the one you usually see done with wine glasses all over the table. He had blockers close to the path everywhere. One of the nuttiest, coolest, most absurd shots I've ever seen. And there were about three shots of that difficulty level that he accomplished in that one game. During each shot he had no hope of having any clue where the cue was going so he was in a total mess several times, and kept pulling those ridiculous horrible leaves every time. Even he was smiling ear to ear by the end of it. If he's capable of that sort of thing very often, and he didn't play three cushion he should think about giving the game a shot. There was a timed kick shot, etc. For anybody that hasn't seen it search "Melling best run out" and you'll probably find it. It is worth it. You could give ANY pro, including Efren, that table he faced each time, and I'll bet they couldn't pull those shots out in several tries each. It would be fun to see. Second game run out of Pag's was a work of art, MHO, especially in execution...WOW! And then that last game came...tough break, in two out of three senses of the word, for Efren. Kinda weird, too. Then 'Pag the magnificent' stepped up. ANYONE would have been hard pressed to beat a player executing like he was. I knew this match was going to be great, and it didn't disappoint. Talk about a master class!
