Once upon a time, pilots flew airplanes that were meant to be retired, alone, at night, in the most treacherous weather conditions possible. We refer to them as Freight-Dawgs. Haha one moment that sticks out for me was 25 years ago during my first or second training flight. We were practicing stalls and recoveries, but I had such fear of the thought of a stall, that during my recovery, I pushed the yoke full forward and we were looking at mother earth from 90* nose down! 😂 CFI recovered the airplane and when we landed, I was sweating bullets, lol. On my drive home that evening, I was seriously contemplating quitting. However, my desire to become a pilot quickly squashed that thought. Next lesson I overcame that fear and the rest is history. 🙂 Glad I found your channel......Subscribed

I flew out of DFW on wednseday and I don’t know how you guys do it. The taxi distances are crazy. It’s like, “we’ve landed, now it’s time for the 30 min drive”

The last time I flew to DFW we had to devert to OK city due to a dry line and the pilot said we cant hold here because we don't have enough fuel. My step dad almost had a panic attack. I told him, well we should make it to OK if they kill one engine. We didn't talk much the rest of the trip.

What's a dry line?

@@twistedyogert A dry line is essentially a front that can cause a high risk of tornadoes, very common in Texas.

Sooo glad I got my PPL there in 1998 before all the flight schools left. Quite challenging learning to fly at such busy airport and airspace, but it taught me a lot and how to deal with the ATC system. I soloed at KMMU. Early in my training, my CFI taught me how to thread the needle and avoid busting the Class B on my way there for landing practice. 😂 Fun times!

@@redtailpilot I learned to fly at TTN. I was actually born the year you soloed, lol. I’m based at MMU now but I’ll probably be losing my job soon.

@@KingAir90Pilot Ahh, TTN. I did the first leg of my long cross country from TEB to PNE, so I was right in your backyard when you were in diapers looking up at the airplanes😂. Damn now I feel old, although I'm told all the time that I don't look 57, lol. Why are you losing your job, if you don't mind me asking?

@@KingAir90Pilot Oh ok. Well best of luck in your next job. I hear there's a pilot shortage, so I'm sure you'll land something soon, if not already. I'm in the electrical trade as a career and have worked for the Government since I was 20. Worked for a contractor prior to this, so I'm fortunate to have only had two employers and really never job hunted in all these years. Good luck!
