Yeah for real, I was using the f117a nighthawk on my first time in this mission since it's a stealth mission so I thought it'd be appropriate with the mission. But as soon as the updated mission told me to destroy all enemy aircraft, I was like wth. I was on normal difficulty, but it's still really pain when my aircraft are supposed to attack ground units while also having low max speed. Then apparently windhover and friends were coming to the rescue. As soon as AS were available, I was like "hey please help me" and called for A.cover. They quickly covered me and destroyed almost all of the enemy units lol, and I was like "damn this is so cool".

This is my favorite mission in any ace combat. Is so well done. It first gives you the idea that you are alone and then BAM....your friends come to the rescue and they are actually useful.

It wasn't until I noticed my hands shaking on the flight stick that I realized it was fear. It's embarrassing, but once I felt that, I couldn't fly anymore.

this mission is great. the fact that there's no music while you're fighting off what feels like the entire Estovokian air force on your own, the only thing you focus on is your maneuvering, the missile alert and the gradual sense that the situation is becoming somewhat hopeless. Then seemingly out of the blue, the cavalry arrives, your brothers in arms swoop in to save the day and the Fires of Liberation motif kicks in hard as the tables turn in an instant. Outstanding atmosphere building. The suspense, the helplessness, followed by the inspiration of the pilots, who you've helped out countless times up until this point returning the favour and pulling Garuda out of the fire. In terms of structure, there's not much to this mission. But the contribution to the story and characterisation is immense.

It's almost like the exact opposite of the battle for B7R when you think about it. In B7R you had 2 massive air forces battling it out until you came in and turned the tide. This time it was a massive force hunting down just you and your wingman but your allies came to your rescue at the last minute

i swear the devs of this game could make the best movie with how they tie this story together man... It's 10 out of 10 awesome for a game that could've had no story really. But the Devs were like , "no we are going to make this awesome as hell flying game and make the story full of fucking great ironic humor while at the same time being an actual story. Its fucking sick, and i love it

I'd have to disagree on the movie part. Maybe a series would be nice, however I still believe that the greatest way to tell the stories of the Ace Combat franchise is through progressive gameplay because it provides a certain level of immersion and gives thr players a feel of the chain of events which he might directly influence. That experience cannot be offered by movies. But that's my opinion.

It'd be a public relations nightmare, plus grounding your best flight pair during an active war is just not a good idea. You'd me amazed how much top pilots can get away with, even if they do get tossed in the brig. For an IRL idea, look into the story of Pappy Boyington during WWII

Never before had Talisman's body been so viciously assaulted by the G-Forces he had sustained. _Well above_ the optimal altitude he should be engaging, his plane was barely able to stay airborne with the amount of ice building up in the craft, only thawed out by the cooked out afterburners constantly thrusting it forward. Bobbing, weaving, dodging and praying, Talisman had no incentive to give up. He had faced suicidal odds before. But he knew this time; his chances of survival were _very slim._ Shamrock's strenous groans in his right ear confirm that he too is not faring too well in this situation. There had to be *hundreds* of them at this point. AWACS was saying some words about holding out a little longer in his left ear. The cockpit Canopy constantly flashing crimson from the never-ending missile alerts locking onto Talisman. Both ears were tuned out as his vision darkens, his Missiles long since run out. He had to rely on lucky strafing runs with his limited Cannon Ammo Count to make do for as long as he did. He looks at his atlimeter. 12000 and wildly fluctuating. He looks at his fuel. Barely enough to survive the encounter, but after that... He looks at his radar. A see of angry red blips swarm about like killer hornets. His wingman, a singular blue arrow bobs and weaves the incoming dart projectiles decorating the screen before it meets the blue dots on the- Wait... _Blue?_ As he spots the phantom dots, his ears buzz to life. The Radar acquires IFF Data simultaneously and lights up like a Christmas Tree. "Garuda team? Come in! I'm here for you!" The angels in the heavens come to his rescue.

The ending of this mission.... Really feeling like you're pulling a last valiant stand. The first time i played this, i didn't know what i was going to do, the enemy just seemed endless. Half my missiles missing cuz I had to break off to dodge a missile before i got a lock or had the best angle to fire 'em. SO FRUSTRATING, then the reinforcements arrive. All your buddies show up, and suddenly, it's the best furball of the whole game. Nothing to interrupt the aerial combat, no ground units you gotta support, no specific enemies you gotta target. Just you, and them, and a no-holds barred skirmish that absolutely was the highlight of the game for me, gameplay-wise.

Necroposting, but that's not a pirouette. A Pirouette is a high angle of attack maneuver where the aircraft is in a controller flat spin essentially. The nose is pulled sharply up, and using rudder the nose is rotated as the plane spins in place. Even when I use the CFA-44, I never use the ADMMs on this mission just because it felt a lot more satisfying to use guns and standard missiles. It's a shame they haven't made a full remake for this game. I'd love to go dance with the angels on my xbox with AC7 graphics. Though it doesn't stop me from playing it...

This is the best dogfight in all Ace Combat history, and one of my favorite missions in this game. Normal ace combat missions would announce “mission accomplished” upon the destruction of the WMD catalyst. Here it continues and has you fly back to base. The music changes from the WMD Gracemeria theme to this intense song as half of the Estovakian Air Force begins chasing and is hot on your tail. Then the music stops completely when the other half, after having cut you off shows up in front of you. It’s some intense dog fighting for a bit… and then Windhover comes over the radio. “Garuda team, come in. We’ve come for you.” Your allied support bar goes to full, you see all your Allie’s showing up and joining in the fight, and the music comes back with “Invasion of Gracemeria.” Absolutely epic. The biggest dogfight in video game history ensues.

When playing through this the first time, I felt like "The Ace Pilot" and that I was doing "all the work." Then this mission came up, like any other I wasn't scared and felt confident on how simple and easy this will be. 7:15 - 9:22 I had never felt so relieved and instantly used the A.cover option. In repeat playthroughs compared to mission 13, 15, and Ace of Aces completing a No Dmg/hit playthrough was frustrating, in the end I sit haunted by the screams and destruction I sowed Perfectly.

i remember this mission but when im doing my 1 aircraft class challenge, 1 fighter, 1 multirole and 1 attacker, i always stand my ground at the 'Project ACE' symbol in the top right corner of the map and take out as many as i can, i just like to listen to boiling point before invasion of gracemaria theme comes, having no music is not dramatic in my opinion but let me know if you liked my idea

The one thing I hate about this mission is you're tricked into bringing anti ground like the XAGM, then the Stovie air force shows up and you've got no way to deal with them except guns and missiles, especially on hard.

I really hate how at 12,000 your aircraft stalls out despite going full speed, and gets pushed down, and yet the AI can fight at well above that altitude.

I don't think the game considers what country an airplane is build in. The F15 is obviously an american/emmerian plane, yet it is used by estovakians only .

Actually the F-15E is the best plane for this game. Very agile, good payload, and weapons for every situation : 6AAM, 4AGM and even bombs, so you ca' easily use it for every mission of the game. And that's why this is the canon aircraft for Garuda.

Bet you to guess that command had actually sent Garuda to die, knowing that this was a suicide mission, as punishment for disobeying orders to retreat. But everyone else, knowing that they're the sole reason why Emmeria is winning, came to the rescue because they went and said, "F### it! We're going to bail Garuda Team out. Now you can try and stop us, but we're ready to bail on you too, meaning no more of your best pilots. Your move." And of course, realizing that they lost control of this situation and that there was no way they'll be able to win the war otherwise, command decided to just let this all slide and pretend that this mass insubordination never happened and move on to liberate Gracemaria with them all That's my headcanon and I'm sticking with it. XD
