It actually is. You just can't play it. It's an AI only plane like the AV-8 and as far as I'm aware it only appears in the Stonehenge defense mission.

I still can't believe the craft got demoted to NPC in this game, seeing as it's fully playable in literally every other AC game (except Advance...but let's not speak about that...)

IIRC, it wasn't playable because they couldn't get the license for it, since it has been "officially" retired from service(at least on paper) at the time of development(AC6, the last game to feature the F-117, was released a year before the Nighthawk's retirement announcement)

The cockpit view in Ace Combat 7 sucks. You can barely look past your shoulder in any plane. Sometimes I feel like hopping in the f14 or f16 to get some first person gameplay, but the cockpit view range is ass 😭

The similarities to top gun maverick with stage one of the mission is hilarious, considering this game was made at the same time top gun maverick was being filmed lol. Also I swear I got the canyon part first try when I went through the story mode, but when I tried to go back and do it, I struggled so much lol

They didn’t add the nighthawk into the base game because it was retired a couple years before the game came out. Project Aces wanted their planes to reflect a modern day depiction, so the stock aircraft roster’s comprised of almost entirely active aircraft that are also active IRL

I know this video was 10 month ago. But now you can have a mod to add the 117 as an add on, meaning it won't replace any aircraft unless you want it. Also there is a mod that add more aircrafts (as long as you add them since they will still appear to chose but game crash unless you add the mod).

Like the F 35 C & B variance, the F-117A lacks an internal gun, if they ever do add an F117 , they would need to give it a gun pod or a third weapon of some kind, maybe an electronic warfare package. That would be sweet.

What he means is in reality it doesn't have an internal gun; something i can confirm, having seen a Nighthawk in person and up close (i have pictures from inside it's bomb bay!)

@@majorborngusfluunduch8694 Another great point, gentleman, there is a solution. The F-117N Seahawk. This was a carrier based multirole stealth fighter concept that Lockheed proposed to the U.S. Navy. It was basically a Carrier based iteration of the F-117A Nighthawk. It looked really promising, but it never went into production for various reasons that are well justified. Despite its real world shortcomings a F-117N would be a great addition. @@IfByWhiskey-CA Honestly I would just like for one of two things: 1. Project Aces should just pretend that Strangereal's F-117 is simply different from the real one. Ours can't carry missiles and a gun but somehow the one in Strangereal can and we just roll with that. 2. The next game to just straight up take place in AC3's time frame so we can get the A/F-117X, which is a fictional variant anyway so there's more creative freedom to give it what it needs for gameplay.

@jwilson2793 I am not a specialist in the logistics of the whole thing, but this probably isn't particularly realistic to say a tank battalion can storm an airstrip and make it usable for friendly aircraft in like two seconds. But it's more fun of course, considering some return lines are not that realistic too. It must be obvious, but someone had to mention it.

@@levberezinrde ….it was a battlefield mechanic used in AC6. Because the combat areas were the largest of the series, and you’d literally waste 5 minutes if you were in a slower aircraft and at the complete opposite side of the map, so what you’d do is clear out the enemy forces around an airbase area and once it’s been liberated you can land to rearm, make repairs or change SPW’s.
