Would've been worth every single penny if you got to fly the mission

honestly once you start purchasing DLC planes you will very quickly find that most of the base game is completely outclassed by just about everything, save a few key exceptions

I loved this review! You highlighted the benefits and disadvantages of the DLC in a coherent manner. As someone who is very fond of Top Gun much like the vast majority of Ace Combat players, I found myself utilizing the contents of the DLC to a great extent in both campaign and multiplayer. I’m glad to say that the DLC was definitely worth it, providing hours of uninterrupted fun. Great work! :)

I bought the bundle of the game with the DLC for $15 in PlayStation Store. For $15 it’s pretty worth it.

They should have made the mission they fly in game

One thing that pissed me off is that i bought all 3 of the aircrafts in the experimental fighter jet bundle separately, yet i didn’t get the skins and emblems for the other aircrafts. If i wanted to get that one skin for the su 57 i would have to spend $12 as if i were buying all 3 planes all over again because they don’t want to sell skin and emblem bundles separately. Uninstalling.

The 5th gen fighter is awesome because it lets you use the LACM, and lets you carry significantly more than any other plane in the game.

Wait, I have the ultimate edition on PS4 but I bought it before the top gun maverick edition came out, why do I not have it?

1:19 If I'm not mistaken, the Maverick Ultimate Edition includes those "8 popular nicknames from past games", but if I recall correctly, there's no other way to get them. They're useless, of course, but it's a small fact.

Hey! I just started ace combat 4 this week (planning to play 5, zero,7, and then project wingman). One thing I'm curious about is how important are 7's DLCs. Am I right to assume that none of them are really important for my first playthrough given that their planes are already unlocked? BTW any other ace combat game suggestions would be much appreciated.

I completed the base game, including 2 of the 3 add on missions. If I bought this, am I just getting different planes or am I getting new missions as well?

I got the game and this DLC for about 14 bucks on steam, the base game was also on sale but it was more expensive than the game + DLC. Lucky me.

ij have the base game disc on ps4, base game on xbox digital, i bought TGM edition on steam. it's funny that you can beat the game with just the TGM dlc jets, and use any parts you would unlock along the way.

Ace combat 7 gets 5 stars for game play and 1 star for story. I feel the game is still worth playing and getting amazing planes to early would spoil early levels. I'm looking forward to playing the dlc.

they are missing one jet the infimous Mig 28 from the first movie based off of the F-5E but its okay, i really enjoyed both movies and love these planes in my arsenal.

I wasn't exposed to Top Gun until I downloaded the movie and watched it to get me up to speed before watching Top Gun Maverick. btw Steam is having a sale and the Ace Combat 7: Top Gun Maverick Ultimate Edition is really cheap so that is a good buy if you have yet to buy the game. It's a shame the Instrumental Danger Zone is only for multiplayer, that song is a banger and fits some of the missions. That said the main mission in Top Gun Maverick about bombing the nuclear facility deep in the mountain really takes cues from Mission 14 with the Canyon Run segment, mission 13 bunker buster when the bombs are dropped and mission 9 faceless soldier with the multiple SAM sites. POV: You're 12 seconds behind schedule and clocking the fastest time in the canyon run and then doing the attack run. And doing GMV with the F-14A in Maverick Skin doing a launch in the Aircraft carrier in Mission 3 Double Prong Attack and then returning to the boat after the mission. Hard to beat that and with the Danger Zone playing in the background. def the TGM variants of the planes are my fav. Role Playing as Maverick in the whole story is prob one of few Top Gun fanboy dream. Previously you can only use the F-14D in Ace Combat 7 so the F-14A variants is a nice addition. Same can be said for the F-18 Super Hornet. The Dark Star is really useful in Fleet destruction mission with the Quad Pulse laser loadout. You can basically make swiss cheese with the ships and the platforms. Just be mindful of the plane's turning ratio. Heres hoping for the next installment of Ace Combat to be as good as the last one.

There is no point in getting these if there are so little few missions to fly these on, so very few scenarios.

The game it self is great but they seriously want people to pay for the ADF(X)-01 !?!? Yeah no. And great when they fuck up their own sales: Right now on steam the Topgun-ultimate edition costs 100$, but the individual products from the bundle together only cost 55$ ... 100 is just way too much.

Imma be real, top gun DLC ain’t worth it… The developers should have simply made the DLC F-14 and SU-57 a SKIN only, not a separate jet.
