Hello , I would like to ask a simple straight forward question please, Can you train(mentor) someone to get the 1st job in IT within 6 months time? Or is not possible in such short times? Thanks

Absolutely love your channel and advice! Very relevant and helpful. 🙏🏼 was searching the channel for ITIL because I’m wondering if it’s a waste of money and time for most of us, but couldn’t find a video. Any suggestions or have you discussed this? Thanks!

Thanks, John. I am well. Started a new job last year and that took a lot of my time. Lots of new content coming? How are you?

Great information but just feels a bit overkill to get all these certs just to land a helpdesk job that pays 15 an hr on average

I graduate from Full Sail with a bachelors degree in I.T. In 6 months. I am going to start studying for the CompTIA A+ certification, however in the mean time should I go ahead and apply for entry level help desk positions? My resume is very course work oriented.

Ok, hold on there. What exactly is your idea of what you want to do when in IT? With that type of degree in your pocket, what is your goal and expected outcome when acquiring the Comptia certification?

@@ITCareerGuide I think having the degree and certification will put my ahead of most of the applicants for an entry level help desk position. I want to start out at help desk, pick up essential skills and experience in the field, and eventually move into a systems administrator.

Christoph i was wondering, I want to start as a help Desk and eventual move up to software developer is it possible to obtain that career without a college degree? I really would rather get on the job experience and self educae through certifications and courses online? Bases on your experience is that a viable option?

I’m currently starting my transition from manufacturing technology into information technology I have no IT experience at all and I am currently enrolled in the Google IT Support professional online course

Yes, it is possible, but what is the reason to go help desk first? I would try to land an internship or build a portfolio and publish your projects on Github. Do some web development (low-level), but then build up a foundation and a good skill set.
