I know right? The writers literally couldn't have chosen a better song even if they wrote one. The lyrics to Happy Nation relate to Genosha, Magneto's views, Gambit's death, Rogue's dance with Magneto, even Cable (he's traveling through time during this song). It's also a 90s song so it is time period accurate. I can't get over how perfect it fits.

A lot of those X-Men heads are older heads. I’ve heard Ace of Base and their radio hits. I probably even heard this song before but it feels brand new to me today! Shoutout to X-Men and giving them their credit where due! Shoutout to Ace of Base for the excellent song!

I know right? The lyrics are so evocative of the season. It makes me think of Magneto's aspirations for Genosha and Prof. X's ideals and Rogue's feelings of wanting to help Erik lead Genosha. It has lyrics that relate to Cable and Gambit too. It almost makes me wonder if Beau DeMayo built the season around the idea of this being the song that proceeds the devastation that hits Genosha. I can't help but fanboy about how brilliant it was that they chose this song.

I loved this song as a teenager but hadn't heard it in such a long time. When it played in X-Men '97 it seriously brought me back to my youth. Perfect song choice for the episode. Happy to see a new generation discovering this song.
