The F1 team was sponsored by Acer during the early 2000s which is why there's only F1 images as it was a collaboration between the two. Also you need to understand that this would have come out straight after Ferrari just won 5 back to back world titles so people would have wanted them so bad.

As a racing fan, I would buy this on the basis that it's based on Ferrari's F1 team, in a interesting era no less as Schumacher was still kicking ass and taking names.

I had this and the external graphics card and modded it to accept a SIM card with the GPS module - ran games very nicely on it's internal screen

I retired mine quite a few years ago. I recently resurrected it and other than a BT problem and flaky power connector, it works fine. I bypass the power connector by using the eZ Dock. Good review. Thanks.

This hits home hard! I remember eyeing this Ferrari branded Acer really hard when I was buying my first laptop geared towards gaming. I just didn't have deep pockets for this branded model and I had to go with Acer Aspire 1694 WLMi. Almost same machine. Just silver color and bit lower specs. But gosh, it was amazing to play Grand Theft Auto 3 and BattleField 2 on a freaking laptop. :D :edit: And forgot to mention. That pesky Acer refuses to die. Its still running. I've had multiple computers/laptops after that have gone bust. Either dead screens, dead motherboards.. etc. But not this era Acer. No sir.

I just got one of these a few days ago! Its in perfect shape because the owner took meticulous care of it, still has the original slot loading drive! My 2 passions being cars and computers when this video came out I knew I needed one. This week I'm looking through my local ad site and see a complete one for sale, in complete disbelief I was finding it locally in way better shape than any ones for sale on eBay! It's my first time getting into the old PC hobby even though LGR always intrigued me to. Thanks a million for posting the recovery disks. I burnt them and used them with the factory partition and it worked flawlessly I now have the OEM Ferrari theme with Ferrari startup it's such a blessing. I can't thank you enough Clint. Btw I know this video is 2 years old doubt you will see my comment but if you need me to somehow backup that recovery partition and send it your way just let me know! Tip I read somewhere and applied to my 4 year old controller (a Logitech F710): those rubbery plastic surfaces can actually be cleaned by applying some isopropyl alcohol (some hand sanitizers use it) onto a rag and scrubbing the surfaces with it real hard. Doing this essentially gets rid of the melted layer. I still use the controller today after cleaning it off.

I remember seeing this one advertised and kinda wishing for it. Then I wrote up a multi page report with multiple quotes and was able to score a Sager 9750 through work, the first dual-core mobile computer available. Doesn’t stand up well now, but I carried that beast around for years, it’s still sitting in my office. And the screen is still amazing on it.

I remember when this was out. I got my first gaming laptop that year and I still use it till this day although I modernized it as much as I could. I ended up buying in 05 a Gateway MX8523. It came with a Pentium 1.79GHz cpu, 2 gb of ddr2 ram, 5400rpm 160gb hdd, radeon T700 MXM gpu, and a glossy 1440x900 lcd. I loved it the main restraint was the motherboard when I modernized it back in 2019. The older setup only utilized pata hdd and a max of 2gb of ram. I ended up finding out gateway continued using the chassis up till 2007 in models known as the Gateway M685-E and Gateway NX860XL. The nice part of upgrading to the motherboard out of the M685-E was the sata HDD bay, intel core duo with interchangeable socket, mxm nvidia gpus, 1680x1050 Glossy LCD, and a new capacity of 4gb of ddr2 667mhz ram! I was able to get a T7600 CPU, Nvidia GS7900 GO MXM GPU 512mb, 4 gb of ddr2 667mhz ram, samsung evo 960 500gb ssd, and a pcmcia linksys 600N card! Let me tell you this setup now a days in this old 05 gateway handles 1080p videos no problem. I even play some old games on it still like World Of Warcraft Classic and Age of Empires II. The original reason I bought this back in 2005 was specifically to play WoW. This computer new in 05 was also $2,799 in its setup. I love these old machines but I love the new ones as well. Currently my main gaming laptops are a 2020 Alienware Area-51m & Asus ROG G751JY.
