On the face of it, spending around £1000 or $1100 on a gaming laptop that comes with an RTX 3060 seems like a good deal especially when it’s paired with a CPU that isn’t a quad core being sold as an i7 in 2021. Quick clarification on the WD SN530 SSD - I said it has DRAM but it doesn't. The '5' class of drives from WD (SN500, SN530, SN550) are all DRAM-less. Still performs fairly well but definitely more 'budget' than others.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I'm trying to find which one is better for gaming: i7-10870h or 5600h with an RTX 3060 90w TDP with 16gb 3200mhz dual rank RAM. I don't know if a last gen 8 core CPU is better than a current gen 6 core CPU.

I picked n5 5800h with 3060 95w with dc 16gb and 512 gb SSD for the price of 3050ti gaming laptop from others. I alreday had monitor and other externals so no further investment was needed..its great, termals are great and it crushes 1080p games..SSD is a bit slower when compared to my Swift X that is my real laptop i carry around..

Dude I know this is an old review but if you're going to do a laptop review battery life matters a TON. It is a gaming laptop so it will be plugged in a lot, but what if I want to just watch movies? How long does the battery last on that? A bit disappointing of a review because of this

I have the regular AN515-45 (Ryzen 5 5600H, Rtx 3060 Mobile). under heavy usage without any battery boosting settings you will drain the battery in 30m to an hour. I literally have went from 100% to literally 10% within 30-45 minutes of playing Mass Effect 3 Legendary Edition. The fan noise generated by games is dependent on if you have it plugged in or not. When you have it unplugged, it can run silent, but as soon as you plug it in and you run anything Intensive such as Halo Infinite, War Thunder, DCS, Lethal Company, etc those fans kick up to over 4500rpm. It runs HOT which also means battery life is quite, sub-par. If your using it for productivity/classwork for High School or College... Expect 2 hours of battery life upwards (If managed carefully without too much battery drain by multiple applications) of about 4 hours.

I appreciated this thoughtful and in-depth video, thumbs up given for that. In my situation though, I think I'm still going to take a long hard look at purchasing it. For a Nitro 5 model with the 6 core 12 thread ryzen 5600h, 8gb ram, 512gb ssd and 95w 3060 gpu, it's currently only $729 on walmart. Even if I chuck in a good 32gb ram set, that brings me up to ~$800, many multitudes less than more expensive laptops, some of which still only come with 8-16gb ram and the same exact cpu. My couple year old 2017 model Nitro 5 with only a quadcore i5 7300HQ and 1050 4gb is a stuttery mess with input lag on modern games, it really has aged poorly. The poor 4 thread cpu can't keep up anymore. I heard the spectre/meltdown patches hit those older cpu particularly hard too. I'd just like to chill in the bed browsing, and play some modern multiplayer stuff like fortnite or dead by daylight fine. Actual users of these laptops with hex core i5/ryzens or even slightly older ones with lesser gpu than the 3060 in this one seem to say good things about them...that they're powerful for a great price and cool well enough to not throttle, what else can you really ask for in something that costs considerably less than competitors

Currently on sale at walmart black friday. just ordered one :) cancelled another order from best buy for a 3050ti laptop for this one. also got a 2 year warranty for only about 50 bucks which covered accidental damage and all kinds of stuff so I'm pretty stoked looks like this will fare MUCH better than the 3050ti gpu that from what i was reading on the gigabyte laptop it was on it wouldn't even reach max clock potential - think it stuck at 60W so this will easily 1.5-2x the performance :)

@@MatticusNicholas Haha I cancelled my Amazon order of 2022 Gen 7 Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 for $550. It had the newer Ryzen 5 6600h cpu and 8gb of 4800mhz DDR5 RAM but only had an 85w 3050 and 256gb ssd.

I did the same thing!! Cannot believe I paid 100 more to upgrade from a 3050 ti. Do you know what the max ram is? The wording is confusing, can't tell if it's 32gb per channel (64gb max) or 16gb per channel (32gb max).

@@mohammedhelles6085 Definitely! The device is a beast for productivity. I had a smooth experience editing videos and creating illustrations with Legion. I'm not really a hardcore gamer but I tried installing Elden Ring and Forza just for the sake of pushing its specs to the limit. And, it works like a charm. There's no frame drops, lag or anything like that. The only downside would be the speaker, though. Audio is a bit muffled. Not a big deal for me since most of the time, I used headphones or ear plugs.

I got this sams laptop but the AN515-45-R6XD model, which comes with single channel 1x8gb 3200MHZ RAM, which i upgraded the same day tp 16GB's with an 8gb 3200MHZ crucial RAM stick(which is infact better than the standard ram that comes with the laptop). So i'm basically sporting a slightly better version of the R21A model

Ребята, подскажите пожалуйста, купил себе такой ноут и в нормальном состоянии(когда в инете сижу, видео смотрю, стримы и еще чет не очень высоконагружаемое) греется 60-70 градусов, еще когда что то открываю резко температура растет, это так и должно быть и чет не так ? Просто у друга модель такая же, но чуть по старее и норм состоянии 40-50 градусов

I just ordered this for $899 1TB edition. All other 3060 laptops are $1100 and up. Build quality is not good. So I gotta be careful with it. But it's best bang for ur back for performance. Display is not the best. But it's my secondary machine. I'm literally getting it so I can game on my free time at work.

My friend.. please tell me how to play Assassins Creed Valhalla on this Laptop. I got the exact same Laptop with the RTX3060 !6 gb Ram and the Ryzen 5 5600H. Absolutely. A mechanical keyboard + external monitor + upgraded ram for about $350 - $450 is a lot more bang for buck than you'd get for any other laptop for a $1100 - $1200 price range + if cooling is ever an issue, replace the stock thermal paste and get a cooling pad and you'll easily consistently hit low 70's

I’d personally pay a little bit extra for a noticeably better screen and similar spec’s like you mr thin as the cpu is great, but a screen isn’t easily or cheaply replaceable. It’s so close to being an awesome laptop, bit the screen does let it down.

like how much? im really confused if I should pay $400 bucks more for a better screen, a mux switch, and a higher tdp of 3060 (Lenovo Legion 5) with the rest having the same specs as the Acer Nitro 5. Lenovo's products priced very high here in the Philippines btw

Using the laptop screen+keyboard only when you arent sitting at your gaming desk at home. I mean that's what my cousin does lol. It works great for him as an architecture student

I recommend this one, I got the nitro 5 r7 5800h, rtx 3060 one with 32gb ram, and it's doing far well than I expected. For the display, I just used amd radeon software and adjust the saturation and it literally looked 100% better. I would subscribe to him because it was a good review, but offering no solution to the "problem" about the display and just kept going on and on about it, kinda turn off for me.

@@joshuawray7087 You're gonna love it my friend. Just use a laptop stand when you're using it to help with the airflow. If you're not contented with the stand, you buy a laptop stand that comes with a cooler too. I've been using mine for 2 weeks and I'm more than happy

@@ismaelv640 it's a steal loving it, Forza 5 plays so smooth and buttery. It's a gaming laptop so don't expect to keep in ur lap and work or game so it needs a dedicated cooling fan. The best part is 2x M.2 SSD slot and 1x 2.5" SSD slot and can't complain much for less than a Macbook air price 😂😂😂 Now I have a portable gaming and work PC for less than a valve steam deck price with 512 gb which is 649, Nitro will give double the performance and better experience with native windows games!

When it comes to computer specifications people can be as picky about them or more as anyone else can be about art, wine, music, or anything else. Everyone thinks they have to have the absolute best of everything. If you want an example of this almost every single reviewer of televisions will say that the cinema color profile on a television is the most accurate color but I absolutely hate the way it looks. Most people never even know a difference yet other people will pay someone hundreds of dollars to come and calibrate the color of their television. 🙄

And annoys the hell out of me and i7 still has four cores. It could be though to keep people for making comparisons to ryzen as much. "Wow my core i7 dies before a laptop that is only a 5 from the other cpu and its faster!"

problem with acer laptops are low TDP gpu-s which gives you shitty fps so basically rtx 2060 from Lenovo 130wat tdp are better then this 3060 90wat

@@vinylbuff1515 Its ok nothing special, so decent performane and pretty quiet to my brothers gtx 1660 ti laptop. I payed 900 Euros, it was the best deal I could ever made. If you want to buy it buy an other 1tb nvme ssd.

Your 165hz monitor which I imagine is significantly bigger with better colour gamut, than the laptops 15.6 inch screen will almost definitely make your viewing experience way better yes

😂😂😂 I watched this thrice !!! I was searching for thermals ! That display is pretty bad atleast it should show proper colors. I was able to see temperatures going max upto CPU 89°C & GPU 74°C , 14:09. Did you forgot to put temperatures in this video?

I can't remember if I specifically mentioned it in this video, but I'm yet to test any laptop, ryzen or Intel, that doesn't instantly boost to its thermal throttling temperature then throttle back. Its how they are designed to run, so quoting the temperatures themselves doesn't really mean much, hence why I did quote the power usage and performance.

hi brother maybe for you this laptop be not good because you KZfaqrs have 100 system and laptop but for someone like me live in shit country and use of old system have near 15 years old (Athlon 64 X2 5200 ) this laptop is maximum of our wish but we can not buy because every us dollar is our near 28000 or Our currency yes bro life is so hard for some peoples also i like your video
