Thanks a lot for the review! I have couple questions to you. Is oled display good for Word, Powerpoint and Web browsing? I heard that IPS better for office work and Oled is designed to games and video editing. What do you think? I want to buy 8gb version as I'm short of money right now. I need laptop for college. I think that 8gb would be sufficient for my needs, what do you think?
@NNI42622 ай бұрын
ok, if it is LITE video editing, yes. I think you can manage with it. However, I always recommend getting a computer with adedicated video card and 16 gb of ram for Video Editing. I have a MacMini M1 8gb that I have been using for my lite video editing. OLED is terrific, btw. 8gb is fine for Word, Excel, web browsing and yes you would do just fine with an IPS screen for just that. If that is ALL you are doing, go for one of the new Chromebook Plus machines. Bottom line, and all this is just my Opinion, if you are going to do video editing, even lite, you need 16gb of ram and a video card (windows) or a Macbook (Pro or Air). If you are only going to do Word, PowerPoint and web browsing, then any decent windows machine is good or even a Chromebook Plus. Thanks for the questions!

Did you get this from costco? because I was looking there and the reviews there are not good even though there are only two people who have reviewed it. I am still not sure to buy it or not for mainly school?

Hello! No, I got this from Amazon. For school, it should be fine. I am using it right now to respond to you. I'm still very impressed by it, btw. Yes, I have had it for 8 months now. Still going strong with no issues. Love the keypad and the screen is very nice. Very happy with it as my personal daily driver.

I'm looking to buy this laptop for university but I'll be doing light gaming as well like overwatch or genshin similar to something like that would it be able to run these games as well ?
@NNI42629 ай бұрын
Hummmm..... well, you'll be using intel graphics and `16 gb of ram. IT's not going to run Call of Duty but it might do Overwatch, maybe not at the fps of a dedicated card. For school though, definitely!
@somyongkim82378 ай бұрын
There is an AMD version of this laptop as well. I would get that because AMD iGPUs are better than Intel iGPUs. AMD iGPUs (There is a version that uses the 780M) will definitely be able to run Overwatch and the 90Hz is also a definite upgrade
@NNI42628 ай бұрын
@@somyongkim8237 Hello! Thanks for the info. I'm certainly not against AMD and I am curious if the pricing is different for the AMD version. Historically, AMD chipsets have had lower prices then the Intel drivien PCs. The Intel was the first to market, so I snatched it up :-). Having had it for a few months, I can still say it's been a joy to use and I have had no issues with it.

Great review! I was wondering if the storage is upgradeable? I found one for a great price but it is 512gb SSD. I worry that I might need more in the future as I'm going to use it in my 4 years of college.

There are two m.2 slots, each accepting up to 2TBnvme SSD. One slot is hidden under the screen cable, just beneath the fans. These are the info they even denied to me by the official store for my state. WiFi module, also we're all able to change, because the one inside is still buggy.

Is there glare in the sun because if I get this it would be for school and we do things outside. The reason I mention this I because my current laptop has terrible glare to the point where if it is five degrees off the right angle it is unusable
@NNI42629 ай бұрын
In the video , I have it at 50% brightness. It does get very bright, so much that I never use it at 100%. Outside, I think it would work well. Cloudy here today, so I will try to follow up on this.

Should I get this laptop for college, I’m thinking about getting this or a mac I’m just curious which would last longer in the long run.
@NNI42629 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. It's going to depend on your needs and how much money you want to spend. Having said that, the M1 Macs have come down in price and are close to the cost of the Acer Swift Go. If you're mainly going to be working in Word, Excel and other Windows programs at school, I'd get this laptop. I have both this laptop and a Macbook Pro M1. The M1 is terrific and I enjoy using it, but for work on the go, I carry my Acer as I work in Windows and it's darn fast for a Windows machine. Back to cost, the M1 Macbook Air would be a good cost comparison. They are very close. It's a toss up. If you can get by using the Mac at school, get it as I think it will be more durable in the long run ( though the whole memory and processor on the same chip has only been around 3 years), but like I said before, if you're mostly using Windows programs....I'd go for the Acer.

Is this matte screen or glossy? (sorry I cant really see it on the video) Also is it touch screen? thanks.

It is a matte screen, not the OLED high end one. It is a touch screen. Still working well and I've had zero issues with it.

@@NNI4262 thanks for the answer! I'm thinking of getting the Ryzen 7 7730U with 1080P screen model coz the only intel model available is 13500H or 13700H. I'm worried those intel CPU will have bad battery life coz it's not U series.

@NNI42626 ай бұрын
No, it's not cheap. This thing is nice! It doesn't flex like some cheap Chromebooks do. They put some thought into this machine. I like the keyboard, the screen and... well, there is a lot to like about it. It FEELS like a high end laptop. No worries there!

how did it last the battery?
@NNI4262 Жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for the question! 1) I did a test running You Tube videos and it looks like it will last about 8 hours with the screen brightness and sound volume at 50%. 2) It's been with me while I have been on vacation as my main driver and I am very pleased. Watching the occasional YT video, answering email, researching things to do.... it lasts all day, no problem (again, at 50% brightness and sound). BTW, it charges quickly thanks to the 65w charger/ USB C.
