Using screens dome buyers will pay for certain sizes of fines. My old buyer passed on the better prices to us prospectors. Also don't trust some jewelry shops as they try to low ball you on spot! They make an electronic device one can use to test purity, but they aren't cheap. I've a friend who is a jeweler that has access to one.

The prospecting store up here in Prescott area that I won’t go to ever again was buying my nuggets and or flower gold at 70% of spot and he won’t take smelted gold because he claimed people will add other metals to make it weigh more But if he does the acid test he would know that correct

First off dont let your acids combine. 18 k acid is also a good silver indicator. An icy blue indicates silver.
