We kinda get a false impression of the monsters being far weaker than they really are because we fought them in low rank before. Another example of this is Rathalos, a lot of people would say rath is a push over against other apex monsters like Nargacuga whereas I'm pretty sure canonically they're almost equally strong.

@@compresseddepression7403 Exactly. A giant, fire-breathing harpy-equivalent with venomous claws would be a nightmare to actually tango with for most monsters. Regardless of a monster’s “hitzones”, unless you’re Agnaktor, or another volcanic resident, _fire still hurts like a bitch._

​@@compresseddepression7403 Rathalos is still annoying asf in Master Rank and Nargacuga isn't really that hard considering you face Barioth just before it lol.

@@silentprotagonist3786 nono I kinda meant it in a way like most people would know Rathalos a lot well and have beaten him a lot in the lower ranks and thus if one were to rank monsters based on their strength they wouldn't think of him being particularly strong. The illusion of power balance I suppose
