People in this comment section really need to chill out! This woman has a 6 month old baby (and family at large) to care for, a KZfaq channel to manage, a garden the size of a whole house, farm animals, a new house to renovate, the list goes on….and yet people have the audacity to tell her to “get her act together” “stop goofing around” “improve the quality of her videos” just to quote some mean comments I’ve seen here😑 Stop projecting your perfectionism (and entitled energy) on others. Let her be a human, an imperfect human that makes mistakes. Good grief!!
@JanetPlanet68
@JanetPlanet68 Жыл бұрын
Yes, being rude is unacceptable. BUT except for the baby, those other things are choices. No one HAS to have a garden the size of a whole house or have a KZfaq channel. Also, no one HAS to watch if they don't like what they see. When multiple people comment on the same issues, it's probably a good idea to pay attention.

Baking tip: Glass dishes/pans do not heat up as fast as metal or conduct the same level of heat. Using glass will hinder the "setting up" of a recipe. Metal is preferred if you are making cakes, brownies, blondies, cookie bars, quick breads, muffins, etc. If you can't use a metal pan you can decrease the temperature and bake longer. 😊 Hope that helps!

Great comments about baking in metal or glass. I am sure many will realized right away why they had the problem they did. Also, Becky's Mom made a comment about cutting off the Lettuce when it is first ready, or you will not get a second harvest. Unfortunately Becky was talking over her so it was very hard to catch her comment. Becky Josh and Baby are so blessed to have wonderful support from their families.

Hi Becky, When melted butter overflowed in the microwave, you said you didn’t realize the volume of 3c of butter. The recipe called for 1 1/2 sticks of butter so doubled you only needed 1 1/2c of butter. No worries! You’re caramel sauce on ice cream is plenty for dessert!

For anyone wondering, the perfect brown sugar proportion is 1 Tablespoon molasses per cup of granulated sugar for light brown sugar and for dark brown it's 2-3 Tablespoons per cup (depending on how dark you want it). In the end it looked like Becky hit that right on the head for Light brown sugar :)

One thing I noted from the blonde recipe - I believe it said a 8x8 METAL pan. Metal and glass have different properties in terms of how they heat up, bake and retain heat. Copying the temperatures and times for a metal pan but using a glass pan will not produce the same results.

Becky, I think your Blondie recipe is fine. When you doubled it, you were only supposed to use 2 whole eggs plus 2 yolks, but you added 4 whole eggs. Also, I think you doubled the butter called for PLUS I think if you had let the butter cool just a little (as the recipe said) that would have made some difference as well bc hot, melted butter can really change texture of anything baked. I would try it again bc it looks like a decent blondie recipe.

@@miephoex That's rather harsh & actually untrue. Everyone has different styles of doing things but she's always been honest (watch some of her first videos) about basically being sort of clumsy or accident prone & not the 'best at reading things' so she wings it, like a lot of us do. Additionally, she doesn't HAVE to show ANY of her 'mistakes' when she edits her shows, but when she does, she usually humbly asks this community for advice and/or tips and for the most part, in a group of almost half a million (we know many are algorithm bots but most are real people) the comments are positive, upbeat and helpful. As in all of life, if you look for something to despise or complain about, you'll find it. If you look for the good & wholesome, you'll find that, too.

Regarding your struggle with blondies: I haven’t made them in decades, but you can just use a tollhouse chocolate chip bar cookie recipe and leave out the chips. That always worked for me. And if your blondies don’t turn out, you could always try crumbling them and freeze drying them. Might make a nice snack, ice cream topping, etc.

Becky, I love your channel, but word of advice from an old lady...Your life will get just a little bit easier by choosing one size larger bowl than what you "think" you'll need, and save on the time it takes to clean up the little spill messes or transferring to another container. LOL Keep being your honest, authentic self, I appreciate & enjoy all that you do.

Last year I made my own roasted garlic powder! I roasted home grown garlic (without oil, just dry) and blended into a puree. Then I freeze dried it. I made a small batch to try. And I will deffinatly be doing LOTS this year, it was amazing. I also roasted some red bell peppers and freeze dried them and once dried I blended into a powder. A amazing seasoning :)

Hi Becky, these blondie brownies look yummy. I thoroughly enjoy all of your videos. You keep the real-life events in the kitchen as it should be. My gramma had a great trick to soften back up harden brown sugar. Put a piece of bread in the sugar. It softens it right back up. Living in Medford Oregon for years, she was always dealing with hard sugars. I honestly think this trick came from living during the great depression. Watching you create such amazing dishes, is always inspiring. You keep life real and unapologetic which is exactly why you are so enjoyable to watch. Thank you so much for sharing your life with all of us.

Blonde recipe 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2/3 cup melted butter 2 cups brown sugar 2 eggs 6-12 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips (depends on how much you like them) Beat eggs, add brown sugar, vanilla, and melted butter cream together. Slowly add dry ingredients (flour, baking soda,, baking powder and salt) Stir in chocolate chips Put into a greased 9x13 dish bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes My mom used to bake these when I was a kid, brings back fond memories. I know you will get a lot of comments and recipes, and hopefully, you will give this one a try. I have been following you since your first video. You are very real and I admire that.

Hi! I love your channel! So nice of your mom to let you use her kitchen. Hey, quick tip for the rock hard brown sugar. Place a slice of bread in the container, and by tomorrow it will be soft and usable! Just a little tip my husband actually taught me years ago! I didn't believe him, but I tried it and it worked like magic! 😊

Our nursery sold these "lettuce bowls" where they had the same varieties of lettuce in them. I have literally been cutting them off at least 10 times since the end of April. First time gardening and was amazed how much salad we got. Plus I can replant in this long oval bowl it came in. The bowl was at least 24" long and held so much. Well worth the $19.99 that I paid for each of them. But what a clever idea.

I all looks good. growing up in a family of 8 children my mom would mix up the toll house cookie recipe and then put the dough in a baking dish. There were great. To keep brown sugar soft, I use the brown sugar bear - I purchased them on Amazon 2 in a pk for 7.99. They work great for the brown sugar and also to put in the cookie jar to keep cookies soft. I also put a plastic wrap on top of the brown sugar in the storage container, helps to minimize the air that dries it out. Hope you had a great vacation

Hi, I have had great success with Sally's Baking Addiction blondies (actually all her recipes). The one thing that you will have to do differently is how you measure your flour. She uses the spoon and level method. When I cheat and do not do that and just scoop and level that is when I run into issues with her recipes and remember the small extra step can make a huge difference..

My favorite blondie recipe is from Joy of Cooking. I have the 1975 edition. They call them "Butterscotch Brownies" in Joy of Cooking. Super duper easy recipe - and it's one pan! I sometimes add extras like grated coconut, but the recipe itself needs nothing extra.

Hi Becky , Pop the brown sugar in the microwave for 10 to 15 second intervals until it softens up.. Always nice to visit..When making a salad , you should rinse. I make a simple salad in deep summer when the cherry tomatoes are popping and the veggies and herbs are all ready to eat. The Israeli couscous , cherry tomatoes , chopped red or green onions parsley ,dill and small chunks of Feta.. I dress the salad with lemon juice couple cloves of garlic s and p and canola oil because it is lighter in taste than olive.Have a great trip..
