The fact that members of the Senate and House still sit according to party affiliation on opposite sides of the literal center aisles is a measure of how barbaric our political culture still is in the U.S. They should have no problem being seated randomly or alphabetically. This would force them to behave more like civilized adults and actually to get to know one another a bit. Is someone who cannot sit next to someone else with very different views fit to serve in either body?
