To define this video. Making a blue sky helps when you paint with white. And if the white is slowly running out. Don’t add more because we want it to run out to give it a shade
@trickyfreefall93145 жыл бұрын
So when doing the background do you leave it to dry or paint the clouds when it's wet?
@marlin95015 жыл бұрын
Lovely Lilypads paint the clouds when the blue is parshly wet. Not too wet that it mixes into a light blue but not to dry that you don’t get the shades you need

@kimfox5071 Жыл бұрын
That’s because your under layer would be dry. This technique is done with the first layer remaining wet but unfortunately as we know acrylic dries a lot faster in a lot of circumstances. This technique works well with oil paint. Im wondering if this artist used a drying retarder mixed into their paint for the layers. Or if you use open acrylics this would work also. Another thing to remember is not to press with your brush really hard. It’s a feather touch for blending

Thank you for doing this video, this helped me a lot. I mean, I didn't have the right brush but I believe my attempt still holds a level of accuracy. I just think I need to stop being afraid of making the clouds look fluffy and apply a kind of thick layer of white to achieve the reflective look of light bouncing off of them. I know that because of the brush, I do see quite a bit of streaks, but it's alright. Other than that, I only made one attempt and as a practice run, I think it looks relatively good!
