I like this technique because I used similar approach painting on reverse side of glass. My technique is wet on wet in oil. I used several small spongues.

I love your clouds and will try to create some tomorrow after I pick up my cushion foam. I've tried to do it with a sponge and it hasn't worked too well. Do you let the paint dry before you paint the clouds?
