I would recommend sorting your collection into sub groups and then organization them based on that. A larger group like your Batman collection needs a shelf to itself. Smaller groups like Spiderman and Thunderbolts could share a shelf (just as long as they are on opposite sides so that they stay distinct from one another). So yeah I would just recommend evening it out a bit so that you don't have super cramped shelves and kinda empty shelves

YOUR COLLECTION IS AWESOME AND WELL SET UP NO NEED TO DO ANY CHANGES, ALL YOU NEED IS SPACE.

I admire your collection a lot. As a fellow collector I enjoy dynamic poses and making characters look like they’re using as much as their powers as visually possible. I also don’t like mixing toy lines or my dc/marvel touching. If these aren’t concerns of yours just get risers and nailess wall hooks for a few flying characters and you’re A1

I always planned to have shelves and organize my figures according to franchise and/or characters. I recently discovered my love for making dioramas, so maybe that's something you can do to your own collection to make them stand out more.

I would loooove that! It’s mainly figuring out what is deserving of its own cabinet/shelf.

I agree with a couple of other commenters: Risers. I have similar shelves as yours and I cut thin, full-shelf-length pieces of styrofoam and made 1-2, sometimes 3 "steps" with them. You can paint the styrofoam to match your wood and seal it with acrylic sealer (matte or gloss) and it really blends in nicely. I even got creative on some of my shelves and did random tiers of styrofoam steps for variety. You have a good bit of vertical height that is being unused on your shelves, some sort of riser addition will really help things breathe.

Honestly the two most important things I’ve learned about space management is depth, foreground/background and generalization. Using those giant spice rack organizers worked a treat for my collection, letting me fully view the figures and add a lot more to the shelf. They’re like $30 a pop but well worth every penny. On top of that it’ll probably be a little easier if you organize it towards a specific concept rather than franchise. For example I got a LOT of random properties so I try to find what groups them. I collect BTTF neca, ghostbusters and he man figs, so that’s an 80’s shelf. I collect mostly Spiderman but have some stragglers of X-Men and Iron man, so I take my spare capcom figs like my resident evil stuff and mix them to have a marvel vs capcom shelf, so on and so forth. Even something as simple as instead of doing a bunch of small individual shelves of Batman here, justice league here etc, group it by doing a marvel villains versus heroes shelf, could work. It’s not full proof, but it will definitely clear up some space, and it makes your shelves a bit more dynamic. Like I have a morrigan and Lilith darkstalkers statue but no other darkstalkers stuff sadly, so it backdrops my resident evil and mega-man stuff so I have a capcom specific shelf. Even keeping it as general as a video game shelf could work.

You have quite collection 😅! I would take everything OUT! Divide the long shelves with a wall. I would create background scenes like outer space,big city buildings, Superhero headquarters, Batcave,etc. I would make flying stands for flying characters. I would then take my time displaying and posing your favorite characters and slowly build from there!😅

My imput would be to organized by teams/heroes and interactions. For the recird I think you are primarly okay with every other shelf except the Marvel shelves. In other words lets divide a single shelf by thirds or quarters. Have a section be devoted to a specific hero or team. Then the bext section devoted to enemies of the same iteration. Next section be the same franchise but different versions like MCU. To play around with the vertical space I suggest getting rising display stands that functions like mini-stairs to give a better presence and variation to display options.

What I do personally to alleviate the fact I am humanly impossible of owning just one batman, spider-man or iron man is have sub collections. Instead of just marvel I separate spider-man from the rest (in my comics display). I have 1/12 superhero movie stuff separate, so I have tobey, spider verse, xmen and the zd toys iron man together as movie stuff. maybe keeping arkham away from the rest of your general dc shelf could work, these methods allow for more versions of characters too like your green goblins or your batmen. I don't collect much out of comic books so anything else I have together but I know that method isn't ideal here. So separating this kind of stuff allows more space in a shelf, repeating characters being less distracting, and more cohesive displays too. I used to mix movie and comics but it didn't look right. It's not a super unique idea but just wanted to help out. Good luck on the collection VAD 👍👍

It's good to see that you have your collection organized and with display cases.

Maybe you could put like a divider on some shelves so that two smaller collections that are from different lines could share one shelf. Maybe tiering some shelves too like with a spice rack, flight stands or even tuna cans for example could help too
@VADtoys2 ай бұрын
I like the idea of a divider quite a lot, I think I have some spare shelves I can cut to make a dividing wall. That way my Thunderbolts can share a shelf with a smaller team!

The unfortunate truth of the situation is that only you can decide what figures go on what shelf. Speaking from personal experience, I am VERY particular about what figures/characters a display contains, to the point where I've offloaded certain figures for the sole fact that I either don't have room for them, or don't have a place for them in the collection. A collector's vision for their ideal display is always changing, of course, but in your case you seem overly preoccupied with the idea of certain shelves having too many or too few figures depending on how you rearrange them, despite the fact that many of your displays already have the problem of too many/few (at least in my opinion). My best advice for you would be to consolidate your displays in whatever way that makes sense or feels right for you, while also not being afraid to have shelves that are more or less bare than others. A lot of people have already mentioned this, but stands or acrylic risers would be a great way to (quite literally) elevate your displays as well, and open up new opportunities for spacing while improving visibility and better maximizing the space you have available for displays.

I've seen some people use display risers to make each figure more visible.

This is just a thought I had, but if you needed video suggestions that were less time consuming than customizing videos, maybe you could do videos showcasing your collection of a specific team or group (X-Men lineup, Sinister Six, Justice League, etc.) and do quick rundowns of the ways in which you modded the figures from that team.
@khromereaper15742 ай бұрын
If dead space is a concern you could put like a vertical divider between shelves letting you stick to doing it in teams like you want to but effectively letting you do two teams per shelf. Not being able to see your stuff with the more you get is something I'm running into myself and I'm not sure if there really is a solution to it.

I do different groups such as Batman or spider man with the bigger stuff in the back like on my marvel section I have a fantastic four spider man and iron man sections but just on the same shelf . Hard to explain

Some of your shelves are too full, IMO don't mix different genera's together, you don't need to display everything if you don't have room for it or not enough. If someone saw your collection, they would not see everything becuase you have figures packed in there. Pose your figures too, if they fly make em fly, that will help fill out the dead spacing too. I would cover up those shelving holes. You could also try printing back grounds, so everything isn't just white. I have a 19x 14 canon printer I use to print backgrounds. I did a Tatooine, Hoth, halo and Transformers backgrounds for dioramas, and a few smaller ones for one so far. Oh, and also use risers so the figs in the back won't be hidden. Hope this helps. Have you picked up any of the Maiden stuff from Super 7 or Neca? I have the Neca Trooper and Aces High, Powerslave Funko. Up The Irons!
@VADtoys2 ай бұрын
Yeah they're definitely too full which is why I got more shelves in the first place, I'd *really* like to do some dioramas with furniture and stuff like that which would allow for more organic posing but I'm worried about running out of space too quickly. Backgrounds is something I've been thinking about a lot but I'd need a bigger printer for that. I saw "Collecting Rush"'s display and would love to have something like that. As for Maiden stuff, no but I am kind of looking forward to the new McFarlane Trooper figure coming out, along with getting Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie too! I'd like Ozzy but I'm not a fan of the headsculpt.

@@VADtoys hmm I didn’t know McFarlane was doing music figs again. I have a few of his Kiss psycho circus figs and his Metallica figs. Eventually im gonna get the Super7 Cliff Burton, Lemmy and Danzing figures and build a stage diorama. I also heard recent about getting backgrounds by using Walgreens or a store that will print pictures or posters. I’ll have to check out Rushes display.
