Action you probably won’t see this but you’re one of the main reasons I got into cooking. In the last few years I have worked in a butchers shop and ran a regular food pop up, I have now just accepted a position as a chef in my city at a highly regarded restaurant and I am ready to get after it big time. @@josephsweeney4219 Is the Cynar replacing the Campari in that case? I've had Mezcal negronis before that replace the gin, but I feel like Campari is the heart of the Negroni that doesn't change. I feel like replacing Campari with Cynar doesn't make it a negroni anymore. Boulevardier is my fav cocktail tho - whisky replacing the gin in a Negroni.

@@josephsweeney4219 That's actually how I make it... except for the mole bitters. I use a couple drops of black lemon bitters instead which goes well with the earthly flavors from the Cynar and the smokiness from the Mezcal.

@@charliep9066 While most Negroni twists include Campari, the liqueur that gives the cocktail its distinctive red hue and bitterness, other bitter liqueurs and amari like Cynar can easily be substituted to create a different take on the drink that still nods to its general flavor profile. IMO Cynar is perfect substitute, not as bitter as Campari and not as sweet as Aperol.
