Walking 3 Hours in Florida Everglades National Park, Shark Valley | Next to Alligators!

Everglades National Park is the largest tropical wilderness in the United States and the third largest national park in the United States after Death Valley and Yellowstone. I visited Shark Valley, which is a geological depression located within the park and open to visitors. It features a 15 mile loop on a paved trail to an observation tower and back. Along the way, I found countless alligators, tropical birds, turtles, and fish. I was recorded a 3 hour walk from the Visitors Center to the Observation Tower, and was thoroughly impressed by the journey.

This impressive and epic 3 hour walk is one of the 2023 historical timestamp! 🤩 You picked a nice day to visit, and good to know the bugs are dormant during this time of the year. It was cool to see the Bobcat Trail along with the wildlife (aquatic birds, turtles, and of course the alligators)! 1:56:26 - 1:58:12 Your reaction is funny, and that alligator didn't want to be bothered with the sun basking. 😂 We got to see 51 alligators through your lens, and thank you so much for sharing this adventurous walk, AK! 🤗🐊

Are they always so peaceful? Can they eat for example little chirld?

@@jot9979 Yes, they can eat a child. One child was killed by a gator at a Disney Resort a few years ago. Attacks on humans are rare; maybe a couple a year (in Florida.) You should not get any closer than 15-20 ft. They actually can sprint very fast.

What a truly beautiful video .. a walk in nature to see some Amazing Alligators 🐊 and Beautiful birds .. just chilling in their Natural Habitat, and even a Snail just basking in the sunshine .. it was funny when the two Alligators opened their eyes and didn’t Even move to relaxed in the grass .. great video Ken 👍👍👍

I watched a bit of this this morning and finished this evening and my heart was pounding for most of it! I had to Google to see that alligators probably won’t bother you unless you bother them first, but yikes. They were right there, so close! I guess we just do not see too many alligators here in Manhattan, but now I know to run in a straight line if I do ever encounter one. Not sure I’d have the nerve to do this walk, so thanks for a wonderful and (at times) heart stopping video! 🐊💕

That's a heck of a trek! Nice doing it during the winter months(we know the reasons why) but not much activity, would have been nice to see one crossing the trail huh. I understand that they are pretty much in hybridization mode but I wouldn't want to be there during breeding or nesting season either! Thanks for sharing, when I make it to Florida again, I'll keep this in mind, never made it that south before to check out gators.

There are so many nice outdoor places to go. Have you been to Bonnett House and the surrounding park (Hugh Taylor Birch) in Fort Lauderdale? It's great, and the beach is right there (can even walk through the tunnel to get to the beach side). ⛱️
