He is 100% correct. The cabinet is too bloated. What is the use of deputy Ministers? They can't even act in the absence of the minister. It's just an added financial burden on us tax payers.

I agree with what ActionSA is saying about the "watch cabinets members", unfortunately people have become very untrusting because of all the corruption. As much as it concerns me that much needed money is going to be wasted on salaries, I take comfort in knowing that by having eyes watching each other, corruption might be curved dramatically. Maybe the cabinet will be reduced next election when watch party members will no longer be needed.

I dont think the deputy ministers are the actual problem. I like the idea of multiple parties keeping each other to account in these ministries. The cost is the actual problem. What i would like to see and i believe the all south africans is cutting salaries and perks. Thats another way of cutting the costs. But sadly i dont think government will take that decision for themself. This is where we can learn from kenya on how to make politicians take its citizens seriously and understand we didnt put them there to live great lifes but rather to give us better lifes.

Why he criticise the DA for the bloated cabinet is beyond me. The only way for the DA to turn this country around is by being part of the cabinet and not by sitting on the sidelines. If that means taking up 6 deputy minister spots along with the 6 ministers then so be it. At least then they can still have some influence in the running of those portfolios.

Rejecting the new cabinets on what basis, because Mashaba indicated earlier and always of not wanting to participate where the ANC and DA are involved. They remain on the opposition benches.. What else could the President would have done at the current circumstances. Let the GNU govern and it was anticipated to be a big cabinet because of all state holders participating in it and the most important factors are peace and stability, growth of the economy, job creation and fighting crime and a multi approach to job creation. Let them work and 'am glad there are young members of parliament , a mix of young and old of which is a good mixture. Goodluck with the new cabibet. The DA should never have agreed to that letter of intent without stipulating a marked reduction in cabinet posts and a clear understanding regarding proportionality.
