Active Reflective Listening

This is a new version of the Active Reflective Listening video I had up originally. There was a misspelling, a VO error and a minor edit fix. This video was created for the Kansas National Guard Resiliency Center's Flash Forward and Life Ties courses. Big thanks goes out to our actors, Erin McGinnis and Dane Shobe for doing an excellent job!

Great video, it showed how to resolve a realistic situation that most people could relate too.

Well done! Great acting looked totally authentic! It is hard not to react to my wife's anger but when I practice responding with reflective listening she generally recovers sooner and feels understood. Though I must say it feel very awkward and unauthentic but it works!

Why are you required to treat your wife like she is a wounded lion? Why is it acceptable for her to be so irrational, and your responsibility to tranquilize her?

It’s as if it goes against our human nature to act in such a humble, peaceful, and reasonable way when someone gets angry at us…

@@rabidbunny2705 I guess it's our defensive brain. Self protect first, ask questions (aka apologize) later. Works great when you're faced with a life and death situation, not so much when you haven't done the washing up.
